Bush to Brown: "You must be feeling damn old then, huh,"

http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline/

<snip>

A little humor from the news conference. After Bush joked about the relative youth of a reporter who was celebrating his 38th birthday, Brown noted that six members of his cabinet were under 40.

"You must be feeling damn old then, huh," Bush said to laughter. "Absolutely," Brown responded.

13. there are small children whose parents complain they can't take them anywhere
Edited on Mon Jul-30-07 02:34 PM by Lisa
.... because they blurt out whatever's on their minds. But at least the small children are cute when they do it. Bush, alas, merely looks ridiculous when he simpers and smirks.

p.s. on the positive side, if 38 is still considered "relatively young", that can only be a good thing! (I'm 39.)

2. I don't suppose anyone from the press asked a question
comparing the way Brown's government handled the recent flooding in England to how Bush handled Katrina?

The Daily Show did a great job of it last week, ending with their "reporter" saying "Heck of a job Brownie."

5. The "war on terror" is so hysterical.
Edited on Mon Jul-30-07 12:04 PM by Bluetempest
I'm listening to this press conference and I'm bewildered; not because of what's being said but the fact that Bush makes a jokes or giggles with every statement.
Bush laughs and makes a crack before or during ever statement which is weird since he's talking about war, casualties of war, terrorism...

17. Yes, another Don Rickles but with a little less finesse
His put downs and insults are so charming, everyone hopes one day to be the object of his carefree and heart-warming monkey shines.
