Anyone watching DHHS Sec. Leavitt on WJ selling private insurance
as the answer to health care problems? How more blatant can you get?

1. I cannot believe he is blaming the debt on healthcare
like that is all we spend money on -

He is such a snake-oil salesman . . . what an absolute slimeball . . .

2. Well, we all now know where Leavitt will be working after Bush leaves office.
The insurance lobby is sure to reward one its favorite mouthpieces, just as big pharma rewarded Billy Tauzin for doing their dirty work in the House.

5. Leavitt was president of a health insurance company
before his "public service career". Gee...wonder where his loyalties are?

8. I should have known that was the case.
I propose a more honest name for the Department of Health and Human Services. Perhaps the Department of Insurance Company Profit Guarantees?

12. If I was able to get through WJ, I would have asked Mr. Leavitt-
..." And, what kind of health care benefits do YOU presently have?

Do YOU also pay $35 dollars a MONTH for third party payers to cover YOUR care, like members of Congress have?"

We ought to be asking every single one of these motherfuckers this question.

3. Greed. That caller had it just right.
I can't believe this simpleton sits there with a straight face and lies spew from his lips. Typical enabler.

7. To take a leaf from his book...
perhaps we should make salaries and perqs to folks like him 'competitive'...so if he can't deliver affordable health care, he loses his place on easy street. I'm sick to death of these front men for big business who have not and will not ever face financial ruin due to illness. The 'entitled' spouting to the populace about 'entitlements' is the height of hypocrisy.

6. If he's so concerned about Medicare spending, then I'm SURE he will
back the Democrats efforts to require Medicare to negotiate with drug companies for lower drug prices, right? He's a filthy lying hypocrite just like the rest of the Bush cronies.

9. They've ramped up the agitprop on this issue lately on WJ.
This is like the third or fourth guest who has pitched the same thing in the last week or so. Have you noticed that?

10. And given time to a Michael Moore critic...
but haven't spoken to Moore or given the other side any time. They must be running very scared.
