Why was there no followthrough on the Condi Rice subpoena?
I always thought this was one little moment of could-be-history that disappeared way too quickly, with far too little attention. Hell, even the DU blew it off.

The subpoena was issued. She ignored it. There was zero followthrough. It disappeared into that dark night.

What the hell? Talk about short memories...

1. Condi is High Enough to Get the Raw Intercepts, So Congress Cannot Touch Her

2. That's not an answer. That's an excuse.
And a poor one that stands outside the law.

3. Congress is Being Blackmailed
The NSA can listen to everything now, and anything politically useful gets fed directly to Karl Rove.
That is why Congress always backs down.

4. She's also Sec. of State...
IMO, they let it go because of that. They don't want a future Dem. Sec. of State to be subpoenaed and forced to testify. I think they wanted to avoid setting a precedent. She should have been forced, but she wouldn't have told where all the bodies were buried, so to speak.

I'm no expert and I didn't sleep at a Holiday Inn last night :)

5. I've been wondering about this myself.
As a matter of fact, she seems to have completely disappeared.

6. Hey... yeah! I almost forgot about that one!
If they're pressing the issue with regard to Miers, Rove and Bolton, why not Rice?

8. Waxman adressed this issue. He gave her some more time
to appear. He will issue an appearance for her in Sept. He has not forgotten or ignored this.

9. Perhaps that is what Miers and Bolten is about
To set a precedent. Better to start there than with the Sec State. The dems have a better chance of winning.
