The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again: "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss"
With the leading Democrats now playing Tweedledee to the Republican Tweedledums, arguing about who can best serve AIPAC and Corporate Amerika in establishing US control over the Middle East Oil, global hegemony, and defeat the menace of nationalism in Iran, China, Venezuela, Cuba, ad nauseum, it might be once again time to listen to The Who:

The 70's version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWM9KZAC8Fg&mode=related&search=
A mix of the '70's and 2005 performances: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roA0Qn1rEV4&mode=related&search=

Lyrics:
We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgement of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again

The change, it had to come
We knew it all along
We were liberated from the foe, that' all
And the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they all flown in the last war

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
No, no!

I'll move myself and my family aside
If we happen to be left half alive
I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky
For I know that the hypnotized never lie

Do ya?

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

There's nothing in the street
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Is now the parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss

1. I don't agree with your characterization of the Dems, but the song(s)
I like!
Try Dave Brubeck's "Take Five".

2. I hope you are right.
By "leading Dems" I referred to a dominant faction, not the party as a whole. With some effort on our part, they will become DINOsaurs, and the Democratic Party will become a party of by and for the people instead of of, by and for the power brokers.

4. What?
The OP states the truth, that the majority of the elected Dems in Congress are wimps, and then shares the lyrics to an old song that could've been written within the last 6 months as it is dead-on. Please, read the lyrics again, slowly.
And somewhere out of left field, you write back to the OP to instead listen to this instrumental piece (which is a good tune, especially the original version with Paul Desmond).
What exactly did I miss in this discussion? First, the truth with very topical lyrics, then something about "my favorite song".
Please enlighten me.

3. Steppin Wolf's Monster is a better song of the times then and now.
The government is a monster we created out of greed and apathy. Remember how complacient american voters became after Nixon and allowed Reagan to win by a land slide? 1979 was the year of the we can't do a thing about this, to many were more worried about inflation then they were about voting.
