Had sex? State wants to know
Virginia starts a registry designed to identify potential fathers.

If you're an unmarried man and you've had sex in Virginia, the commonwealth wants to know about it.

The General Assembly established the Virginia Putative Father Registry in the 2006 session, and it went into effect July 1.

The law asks any unmarried man who could be a father to voluntarily fill out a one-page registration form and submit it to the Virginia Department of Social Services. "If you have sex, you should register," said Pam Cooper, acting adoption program manager for the Virginia Department of Social Services.

4. Why not put an ejaculation meter on a man's penis at the border?
Edited on Thu Jul-26-07 11:27 AM by rurallib
Or a permanent one on residents. Not sure exactly how it may work, but I am sure someone in China could make one for them and sell it through Walmart.
Every Monday each man will need to account for every sperm sent on a mission:
- involved in potential procreation - need name and address of potential mother.
- involved in homosexuality? rehabilitation
- maturbation? dating service and rehabilitation.

Kill 2 birds with one stone.....track the potential fathers and mothers who might be carrying a zygote-American. Mandatory daily pregnancy testing to protect those little people.

6. It's about abortion...not about sex, IMO
They want to know so they can use a 'potential' father to get the woman who might have an abortion to change her mind or even take it a step further by asserting his rights and forcing her to stay pregnant.

:puke: This is disgusting.

Truly disgusting.

edit to add-I did a bit more reading in trying to understand the intent of this law. It seems to be about adoption red tape.

I still don't trust how it could be used.

13.  WTF?
"Went into effect on July 1." Did Kaine sign onto this? Or can the Assembly just push crap through without the governor's approval in this state?

15. I think you're misinterpretting the law
The article doesn't really help since the idiot journalist just tried to sex up the story (pun intended).
It looks to me like that registry could be helpful for adoptees and men who are not part of woman's decision to put a child up for adoption.
