Question; are the bushies letting dems use gonzo as a pinata?
Miers/Bolton and a few others have been covered with the Cloak of Executive Privilege

Why isn't Gonzo also hiding under the cloak?

Is gonzo being left out so he can be used as a red-herring shaped pinata?

sorry if this sounds like a :tinfoilhat: question... it just seems to me that the reasons for applying executive priviledge double-super-secret status on Miers/Bolton because they talk to bush/cheney - the same would apply to Gonzo

2. It is the difference
in their positions that creates the differences in how the administration attempts to use "Executive Privilege." Another example, using but one person, would be Condi Rice: the administration can attempt to cover her for anything from when she was the president's national security advisor, but not from her time as secretary of state.

3. Three points:
1.) Gonzo can't resign. Josh at TPM Cafe laid out a very convincing argument a while back on this point. I'll try to find it later.

2.) You can't hide the AG from the Senate Judiciary committee.

3.) The person I trust the most on Capitol Hill is Pat Leahy. Now, Pat's only one of 50 Democrats in the Senate, but he does have a gavel in the Judiciary Committee.

6. Basically, Bush needs a block at Justice and if Gonzo goes...
the Senate will NEVER give him another.

7. Loyalty in this administration is a one way proposition
Anyone defending this bunch deserves whatever they get. There's too much history for any intelligent person to believe anyone is going to stand anywhere near them, let alone beside them.
