4. I'm still holding out for Gore. Wesley Clark would be a dream. So would
my own personal hero, Howard Dean, but I kinda like him as party chairman - he sure did alright for us last November! But, yes, I'd LOVE to see him in the Oval Office - and not just visiting.

21. Welcome to DU!
Yeah, I LOVE the idea of Gore/Clark.

Or Gore/Obama (although Gore/Clark would protect ALL our Democratic Senate seats, rather than taking one of ours outta there and jeopardizing our slim majority).

Frankly, I'd go with Gore/Anybody.

20. That fact is crystal clear - WE have bench strength! Rather remarkable
and impressive bench strength. I can think of a whole bunch of our guys/girl who, on their worst day, would be LIGHTYEARS better than the "best" the bad guys have to offer - on their "best" imaginable days.

11. Big Oil would throw so much money against a Gore nomination
it isn't funny. They would stand to lose billions.

Bring it on!

14. Hmm
The federal government holding the keys to the national oil supply would be a magnet for corruption (even worse than it is already).

We wouldn't need to nationalize with tough federal fuel efficiency/alternate fuel mandates. There is an enormous powerhouse which doesn't need to be destroyed, but redirected. Make it hard to make money in oil--so hard that suddenly profiting from electric vehicles, solar & wind power, and biodiesel looks easy.

19. That's really the challenge of this immediate future.
getting it so government is controlling big oil instead of vice versa.

13. I think we wait and then implore Gore to help us if it looks like we
are going to get someone not too good as the nominee. Like a Kerry or someone who will be demolished in the general.

We need to get a Gore/Feingold ticket. I don't want any more R "lite" nominees, but true liberal credentials.

17. Funny, that.
Your earlier posts here about a certain democrat sound EXACTLY like what the people were saying about Gore in 2000. You know, the ones who voted third party because there was no difference between the Dem and the Repub.

Now lookie here. Gore is leading the way on issues that are supposedly so important to the Greens. What has Nader been up to, I wonder.

Being that you've already stated that you're jumping ship if a certain democrat is nominated, maybe you should have more faith in whomever the Democratic Party voters choose to nominate for the General Election. Too bad more of the Greens didn't trust the Democratic voters back in 2000. It would be a whole different world right now and I'd be a lot less frightened for my baby girl. And Kerry may not have run the best campaign but he's a good Democrat and you can't fault the Dem primary voters for the campaign management.

So people with your "I'm taking my ball and leaving unless I get my way" mentality are actually more of a threat to this party than a benefit. Who cares who underwhelms you. I don't. I wish people like you would go fly a kite instead of hanging around like a pest smearing our Democratic candidates. But that's just me.

22. I'm very anti-draft.
Either they choose to run or they don't. And they make said choice independent from those begging them to run.

Don't like the military draft either.

NFL, NBA, MLB, etc... drafts are acceptable.

Draft beer is the best.
