This is the person Rachel Maddow is speaking of now. She is talking to his lawyer.

"The case involving a demand for Wolf’s raw video of a protest was brought in Federal Court on the flimsy basis that the San Francisco Police Department, a Party in the case, received Homeland Security funds, nullifying protection under California’s shield law.

Although the handling of the case has been condemned by the National Lawyers Guild and professional groups including The Society of Professional Journalists, The National Press Photographers Association, and Reporters Without Borders, U.S. District Judge William Alsup refused last week to reconsider arguments brought by Wolf’s lawyers making it likely that Wolf will stay behind bars until the Grand Jury is dissolved in July.

A Free Press is truly at stake because if reporters can’t protect their sources or are forced to become the eyes and ears of government, who will trust them? I believe it is time to reassert one the most fundamental principals of democracy as set forth in the First Amendment by demanding that the 110th Congress pass a federal shield law now."
