Police: Men With Toys, Instruments Traveled To 'Ravish' Children
Theme Park Worker, Homeland Security Officer Taken Into Custody

A Homeland Security employee, a theme park worker and a youth hockey coach were among more than 20 men arrested during an online child sex sting, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said. Some of the men carried sex toys and other instruments to "ravish" children, authorities said.

More than 20 men were taken into custody during the sex sting over the weekend dubbed Operation Guardian conducted at a home in Central Florida.

"They come here with instruments or toys," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. "And they come here to ravish children. And quite frankly, we are working at the federal, state and local level to keep that from happening.

1. What a disturbing story. I hope these men are convicted and imprisoned.
Pedophiles are the lowest of the low among criminals.

23. You mean you hope that they receive fair trials...
...and that full exposure of any of their actual crimes will result in greater awareness and fewer children being victimized.

I thought so.

2. A Homeland Security employee????
More and more I'm convinced that the DHS is nothing more then the US version of the Gestapo, considering the Gestapo was also staffed with perverts and sadists.

Besides the fact that Chertoff looks like a Himmler "wannabe"!

10. Homeland Security AGAIN?!
Wasn't there a DHS higher-up, and former FBI child predator investigator, who got picked up for doing just that thing not long ago too?

12. Yes, there has always been this many predators but not always TV
computers, transportation options and little if any protections by the law. Our children were and still are, apparently, open to the same kinds of abuses as children in any third world country. We are just more sophisticated.

5. no offense DU floridians -- but y'all have some SICK
and twisted motherf*ckers in your state. I've lost track as to how many articles I've read lately of child predators, etc. in Florida. I'm sure every state has their share, but yours have been in the limelight more lately.

11. see post 9 for the truth about that-it's related to human trafficking and other evils
that were covered up, like The Finders case from Tallahassee in the 80's-here is another horrifying case with Florida linkage from post 9

Rape is what happens to these kids. :(

7. What a fine looking group! Not quite as bad as the administration
but close. Sexual predators of children are among the lowest, but bombing innocent children is lower.

15. The Finders case page from Educate Yourself.org
http://educate-yourself.org/cn/ciadrugsabusemurder.shtml

Since the release of the so called CIA Family Jewels material from General Hayden as DCIA the many investigations by law enforcement that were shut down/covered-up/discredited should be reopened and charges issued wherever possible.

We have had many such cases here in Wisconsin-and there is a definite link to intelligence community involvement at shutting down these cases.

There is a historic link to some of the figures mentioned in the allegation of black operations involving children that also merits investigation and charges where possible.

16. Other than #5,7 & 8, they all have probably "passed" for normal
and have molested many children without getting "caught"..

5, 7 & 8 would have set off most "creep" radars..

19. I am of mixed feelings about so many deputies tied up in this.
Judd is part of the right wing religious groups here. A nice man but many in the county offices are with him on this.

It is a sting operation which DOES bring them to our area. Maybe they did not think about coming here, but when encouraged they did.

The word "ravish" bothers me. While they are doing this, we have had kids being beaten to death in privately owned "boot camps."

We need to put them in our jails with God Pods, where baptisms are held.

Do I sound a little skeptical? Probably. We have children missing the DCF system.

I am very against predators online, but I have mixed feelings about tying up so many in sting operations.

22. I don't think I'm understanding the part about "instruments"
So they took stuff like oscilloscopes and luminometers?
or frequency analysers and such?
Is it those ANALysers that are the problem?

Or
Did they take Saxophones and violins?
Guitars and flutes?
Is that it?
Is it the Flutes?

I don't think adults should be buggering babies or anything

But, I just don't understand about the "instruments"

25. Here is another article on this sting.
I was really kind of surprised to see that some others shared by concerns about a sting that draws people to this area from other places. I have often felt stings catch people who might otherwise have never acted out.

They point out what getting sentenced in Polk County means. There are "hanging judges" here, trust me. As I pointed out before, the sheriff and his cronies are very close to the religious right here...and they have absolutely no tolerance for anything. There are baptisms in the jails and dorms called God Pods if the inmate converts. Lots of converts, as they get better treatment.

http://theledger.com/article/20070728/NEWS/707280443/1039

"As in the past stings, most of the men arrested were lured from outside Polk County. And if recent sentencing history in Polk County is any indication, many of those men could face a tough prison sentence if they are convicted - about five years in Florida State prison, to be followed by five years of sex offender probation. They also would be required to register as sex offenders for the rest of their lives.

The busts have raised the eyebrows of critics who say they target non-violent offenders, most of whom aren't from Polk County. But Judd said the arrests send a needed message and he's pleased with the tough sentences handed down so far.

"A personal opinion is that they don't ever need to be around children, they don't ever need to be out in society," Judd said.

"Realistically, in a system that tends to be lenient with first-time offenders, for a first-time offense, five years is a pretty stiff sentence," Judd said. "It certainly doesn't need to be any less than that."

Enough said. It would be nice if they would turn these internet deputies loose to find the missing children from the state's DCF.

Oh, and before anyone says anything, I don't approve of sexual predators. I feel some were lured here and ahd not yet committed a crime.
