Read the first letter on this page. Of course you can read the others, but the first one is what this is all about.

WE NEED UNIVERSAL, SINGLE-PAYER HEALTH CARE

Speaking as a Republican, a physician and a member of the American Psychiatric Association, I propose that we start being more open-minded about universal health care.

1. He doesn't actually mention the movie (as a Repub) but youcan
tell that he's seen it. I wish I had, it's not in my little town yet.

2. Kick & Nominated
I finally saw the movie the other day - fantastic!

Michael Moore is brilliant, and it is a disgrace the way the U.S. treats its citizens.

4. Many physicians are for single payer.
I suspect he was for it, or at least leaning in that direction, before the movie. But it may have prompted him to write that letter. It may even have given him the courage to take a stand that he previously believed was unpopular.

5. His point that for profit care is a failed experiment is good framing. Use it.

The free-market system is wonderful. It works for many things, but not in this experiment in multiple private health care payers. The good thing is that if we decide to switch to public payer health care, we have so many successful models throughout the world on which to model our own system.

All we have to do is put away our pride, admit that we've been going the wrong direction for the last 36 years

7. This movie is an embarrassment!
I felt so embarrassed when Michael Moore had to take 9/11 rescue workers to Cuba to get decent health care.

If this movie doesn't wake Americans up, nothing will. This movie has the ability to unite everyone, Dems and Repubs and others, because we have all dealt with the idiocy of our health 'care' industry. How many families have filed bankruptcy, how many people have died because insurance companies refused to pay what they promised. It is a inhumane scam.

We must demand a president that understands the need to take the profit out of health care. In the end I believe that we will save money, because without the need for profit on injury, our health care would shift to preventative care which would introduce a whole new dynamic.

8. I noticed tonight in the debate they seemed to hit on some of
the themes from Moore's movie.

10. Moore did a great job of hyping the movie before its opening.
There was not going to be any burying of his movie. Of course he's won so many awards and his movies make money. That helps a lot.
