The War on Terrorism & the Fear Factor

Do any of you ever wonder why the War on Terrorism has consumed America? With the end of the Cold War we lacked for a Fear Factor/Boogie Man in America and conveniently Wallah! The War on Terror was born.

Yes Terrorism is a serious issue in the world today, but there are other issues out there. Education, crime, health care, poverty, the environment...the list is endless........yet each and every time a major issue seems to finally make it to center stage about how dismal the big picture is on any particlular issue.........the War on Terror is trotted out once again....to scare us all back into submission.


If we want to take back America may I suggest we show the War on Terror for what it is......a big fat distraction by the Republicans for how much in the crapper the country is on other issues?

We had a major US city nearly wiped off the map by nature and the country was unable to respond in a reasonable and timely matter. Dick & Jane are at a rd grade reading level in high school, 45 million Americans have no health insurance, gas prices are at an all time high, the housing markets are crashing or stagant, food is no longer safe to eat are just a few issues that spring to mind.

I really want to know how long America is going to be consumed by the War on Terror?
