The local weatherman's prognosis is more rain.
I just hope my a/c bill is lower, because the weather here has sucked.

I hope someone is enjoying weather somewhere!

1. you guys are going to float away. Up here in north central Illinois
We have had an unusually nice summer. We've had enough rain to keep things green and pretty and enough sun to play.
Temps have bounced around from low 70s to mid 90s. No constant anything. doesn't rain all the time, or drought or is hot everyday, it is a really nice mix. have not seen a summer like this one in a long time.

9. Wow. Very wonderful for you! I had a day last week where it rained 5" in 2 hours.
And thundered, lighted the sky, etc. What a day that was.

2. Living in a swamp in the Hill Country, myself
More rain for me in the forecast also.

On a bright note, I haven't had to water the garden but once all season. I was also considering tethering mosquitoes together in an attempt to pull my car around. Hey, there's enough and they're big enough it just may work! :P

13. There you go. If nothing else we Texans, we are resourceful. This summer,
actually the last several years have not been normal in North Texas.

In 1980 North Texas had 40 some odd days of no rain and 100+ degree temperatures, even at night the cities could not cool down and the heat continued into the next day. There are t-shirts still occasionally seen being worn by someone in the summertime stating simply "I survived the Summer of 1980".

Let us know how rounding the mosquitoes works out for you, us, well we are looking at some other alternative means of energy, but hey, if you can show us how the it is working out in a positive way, we're open.

(just having a little bit of fun)

Peace

5. Same here in New Orleans.
Even in the dead of night, it is like pea-soup outside! Even walking to the FQ at 11pm, you can end up looking like you just swam laps. It is much worse this summer than it was last summer.

We NEED some of that wet you're suffering through.

My onions... my tomatoes.... my basil (well, not really; the basil is trying to climb OUT of the trough I planted it in)...

10. Revel in the rain and thank the gods above you are not in a drought.
Send loads of thanks somewhere out into the universe and just maybe the Gulf Coast will have a peaceful hurricane season again this year.

Peace

11. I'm in the fungal jungle of Houston too.
The monsoon du jour is getting old. We had it in Feb, we had it in May, June and July.

Weatherdude said we had 37 inches of rain so far this year, so we're about 10 inches ahead.

Gahhhhhh!!!

The mosquitoes are gonna carry us off!!! :grr:

19. I understand
We live between The Woodlands and Conroe, and it's rained almost every day. My husband grumbles, because even if we have a day without rain, it's still too soggy to cut the grass. The benefit is that it hasn't been as hot as usual, but it's still getting old.

I wish we could share some of our rain with those facing drought. Maybe we need canals in this country, who knows? It might help both flooding ad drought, but I'm pretty clueless about such things.
