Nine us soldiers killed Tue/Wed in Iraq
many of which would likely be during the Tuesday night filibuster. Five of them are pictured here

1. Fucking Hell
But we wouldn't want to rush out of there before we lose another few thousand of ours and kill a couple more hundred thousand Iraqis. That would be irresponsible.

2. The media has really been trying to hide all this these days.
It gets very little or no mention, it's all about the Dow & celebrity gossip.

8. I know what you mean
I find it impossible not to though. DoD puts out some numbers - "four killed in IED attack" and I just KNOW that four families are about to get that visit from two guys in uniform - that they might be getting it right now - and I feel compelled to get the names posted, and then add the links and pictures. It just seems so wrong that there is not widespread awareness of each and every story. Each one is so much bigger a story than all the bimbos and athletes and 98% of the political posturing...

So I keep surfing until I find a pic, and I look him/her in the eye and say a silent "I'm sorry." I'm not religious; I guess its my version of lighting a candle.

If its not a good pic, I keep looking and when a better one shows up I replace it. I guess its like people who go to the graveyard and tend the grass... you just do what you can... and there is so little you can do.

I started generating a script to paste here as a byproduct from my website-generation tool, because I know there are sympathetic people here and I want as many sympathetic people as possible to meet these folks and say "I'm sorry" or whatever. They deserve it.

10. If the media published pictures this war would end damn soon
If newspapers and local and national televison made honoring our dead the priority it should be, this damn criminal "war" would end. I say "fuck you" to every media outlet that doesn't make this the number one story every day.
