Yep I am pissed, real pissed
Edited on Fri Jul-20-07 05:26 PM by nadinbrzezinski
was listening to Ed Shultz... I probably should switch the radio off or put on some music

But I was listening to him after calling the staffer of my Rep... and telling the clueless bimbo (I am not being fair to bimbos everywhere I know), about the latest line on the sand...

Her response... I will pass your opinion to your congresswoman.

I am betting she will pass my opinion well after a snow ball remains intact in hell, and she is a dem. I expect that condescension from a republican, but these days, I hear it from our own side. With friends like this....

You see, they don't want to hear it. Impeachment, no matter what they do, and how many times they trash the constitution and how irrelevant they make the Congress, is off the table... and we, the unwashed masses should just learn our place and just shut the fuck up. After all Mr. Emperor should never be questioned, since he is the state... and you should never question the state.

Ed shuts was told the same thing yesterday, but in a nicer way. I also got the obligatory letter from Pelosi telling me to buzz off.

So yes, I am pissed.

It seems our elected jelly fish really don't care, or are so damn scared that they won't act... either way they are now complicit in every crime this administration commits against the Constitution and the American people. THey are complicit in letting a man be above the law.

Remember, the Republic will die in a thunderous applause.... and in fact it is dying bit by bit, day by day, second by second.

The line is now on the sand... and I sadly expect none of our spineless leaders to do a damn thing.

If they don't care, and many native born americans simply don't care, why should I?

Oh and in 2008, assuming there is an election... I can smell this Congress and its leadership going down in flames...

In a manner of speech of course.

In reality, they already have... by refusing to protect what we... yes WE the unwashed masses, entrusted them with.

No money, no work, hell at this point perhaps maybe no vote.

Oh and long live the King... since the Republic IS NOW DEAD.

2. For what?
this nation will perish from the earth, in fact it already has.

Today, while driving, I saw the flag... and I thought to myself... all those people who have died defending the ideals under that flag, starting in Boston in 1775, to the last trooper lost in Iraq, all of them died in vain

13. Good if funny or not
I've had some pretty glum days. Today isn't one of them and I'm glad for it. After watching Fein last Friday and listening to Hartmann yesterday I was pretty down in the dumps.

I'm not a Clinton supporter for the primaries. But this crap with the DoD made me think I could even support her in solidarity. I never thought a Hillary issue would be the source of hope this week.

And now Schuster is sitting in for Carlson and talking about Larry Flynt preparing to soon out yet another Repuke. Maybe next week will be better than this past week.

29. Perhaps but at this time... serious
if they don't impeach or take any other CONCRETE action (Inherent contempt) they already lost the 2008 elections.

I hear it, and I fear I agree with many of these folks who feel betrayed by their party

(sending a letter on this issue to the Chairman of the DNC... sometimes that gets people to act... especially when you go, no money and perhaps no vote. That really gets their attention)

15. Has the Army been sent to Washington to...
roust the Bonus Soldiers march?

Has anyone refused to do the minimal investigating of a calamity like the Johnstown Flood?

Are we at war with the state of Virginia and its allies?

Are we in the midst of a Dust Bowl migraton? Are Hoovervilles all over the country?

Are the Pinkertons shooting union organizers?

Has the Supreme Court recently held that a slave must be returned to its owner?

Are we regularly ignoring treaties and killing any native Americans foolish enough to be in the way of mining rights or good farmland?

Is William Randolph Hearst still alive and openly pushing his various agendas?

Is New York City still run by Tammany Hall?

Has there been a remake of "Gigli?"

See? It's bad, but not as bad as it has been at times.

and I believe we've been on this road for a very long time. I'm not sure you've read it, but Ferdinand Lundberg's "The Rich and the Super-rich" is available for free download as it's copyright has expired.

Not only do I believe there is precedent for today's reality, I believe it is being repeated chapter and verse.

14. You're ranting about staffers, a complete waste of energy.
I read your thread about Pelosi's form letter to you, which you called "buzz off".

I guess you expect that Nancy Pelosi is supposed to personally answer every single letter??? Also, you misrepresented the letter, you said they told you "buzz off" when the letter actually said "thank you for expressing your views" (typical form letter). To be honest, the lettter YOU wrote was nothing that hasn't been written before (I'm irate! Stop the war immediately!) and was almost a form letter in and of itself.

Now today, you're here complaining because a staffer (probably an intern who never speaks with Pelosi but merely works a phone bank) didn't tell you that your message would be hand-delivered to the Speaker.

GET A GRIP ON YOURSELF. I agree that phoning and emailing the Speaker to encourage impeachment is productive. But it's NOT productive to post messages that Pelosi's staff is unresponsive, because

#1 you absolutely don't know that. They are paid to take your information, and get you off the phone to open the line for the next person.
and
#2 proclaiming that Pelosi's staff is unresponsive only DISCOURAGES people.

The phone is ringing off the hook at the Speaker's office, and they get hundred if not THOUSANDS of emails and letters every day. But the important thing to you is that YOUR feelings were hurt because you didn't get a personal response?

From the original post

"No money, no work, hell at this point perhaps maybe no vote."

GOOD RIDDANCE. Be gone! Don't let the door hit ya on the way out, etc. We need this pointless negativity like a hole in the head. All you're doing now is spreading your cynicism, over something completely trivial.

I'd bet 20 bucks the OP has never called Pelosi's office until recently, hence the utter surprise at a typical normal response from a staffer, someone who probably never meets with Pelosi, let alone to hand-deliver an urgent message from a VIP like nadinbrzinski

I'm not alone in these feelings of ... what is the proper world... oh yes betrayal

If they want to keep the power they have... it is very simple, they need to stand up to the bullies and ahem, see that parchment called a Constitution?

Wow, I didn't realize how harsh your experience was... "like, whatever". You've had it rough!

I agree with you, definitely blame Nancy Pelosi HERSELF. She's obviously telling her phone bank to be rude to people!! Even though they get hundreds of phone calls, each caller should be made to feel "extra-special". That's part of their job!

Really, I don't understad why you weren't patched through to Pelosi, directly!

Now try to defend these attacks on the Constitution and the apparent inaction without the sarcasm or condescension on your part.

Perhaps Mike Malloy

The COnservative that Hartman interviewed yesterday.

The current caller to the Randi show

And others who see the obvious storm clouds.

If you cannot discuss anything without dripping sarcasm... well it is your country after all, and they are just shredding your Constitution. If you don't care... why should I?

in the meantime, keep calling her and writing her, with rational explanations of your position. This is a numbers game, pure and simple. The more calls they get, the more seriously they'll consider an issue.

Please DISREGARD the nay-sayers and negative complainers, such as the original poster.

i really like Ted Kennedy. He's my Senator. I just received the following email from him. Apparently, he was responding to one of the many letters I've written to him. I have no idea what issue he's responding to and, sadly, it's pretty clear he doesn't either. Talk about a form letter.

we really have to do better than this. here is Ted's letter to me:

Subject: Re: Your Concerns

Dear welshTerrier2:

Thank you very much for your recent letter.

It is primarily through correspondence such as yours that I am able to keep abreast of the insights and concerns of my constituency. Only by keeping informed can I continue to be an effective and responsible Senator.

Be assured that I have reviewed your letter and appreciate your sentiments. I will keep your opinions and interests in mind when faced with future policy decisions.

34. This would be funny if it weren't so sad. You really are clueless, aren't you?
Maybe you're just lonely and need someone to talk to???

I'd bet 20 dollars that you ranted to Pelosoi's staff, and that's why you got a "whatever" in response. If not a rant, then an emotional, impassioned plea.

These folks are probably interns, just trying to deal with the never-ending stream of phone calls. You want impeachment? They tick off "Yes" in a column. At the end of the day, they tally up the Yes and No calls. THAT'S IT.

Then you come along, expecting to engage a phone operator in an emotional conversation... that's not what they're there for. They take your comment as quickly as possible, and get onto the next caller. They don't care how DEEPLY you feel about an issue, there is no place to write that down. In fact, if you are really emotional they probably write you off as a kook.

What's the point , it's been years now and all I ever get are served up pre-set form letters in the email , I don't know if one letter I sent was even opened and as far as phone calls who knows what the hell happens to these , are they counted and put in folders and set on a desk or just in one ear and out the other .

It should be obvious by now that none of this will make a difference , it will take active participation by the people willing to scarifice all to get out in mass numbers and stay there and even then now with bushs new and latest signing statement we may very well be erased , all assets frozen and lose everything , erased !

48. I'm pissed too. I had to retire after the 2004 election--I could
no longer bear to contribute to the hypocrisy. It has taken me two and a half years of very dark depression about all this to come to the conclusion that my rage only made me incapable of participating in life at all and is detrimental to my health.

While things have not improved--I have simply become super cynical and expect the worst everyday. The Democratic lack of response is incomprehensible. Like the left-wing gatekeepers who gratuitously slime the 9-11 truth movement, our congressional representatives seem to be letting us know that the fix is in. But taking a cue from the right wing fascists, "we only lose if we give up". So don't let your rage kill YOU--they would like nothing better.

I find the snarky responses to your distress totally unhelpful.
