A preemptive DU response to *'s SOTU. . ."Ooga, Booga, Smooga, Wooga"

If ya missed it. . .

ahhh the not so gentle man in question lied us into a "preemptive" war based on bogus intelligence (aka sheer stupidity) "cherry picked" from Chalabi (a known extortionist) and some character questionably called "curveball, " and summarily trashed our global reputation, to say nothing of looting our treasury, among many other disasterous and possibly treasonous maneuvers.

Okay so what sort of honor does he truly deserve??? Rapturously sycophantic applause???

Ummm. . .I think not.

Instead of applause for whatever untruths and misrepresentations he'll predictably spew regarding our sordidly sorry state of this divided union, and the constitutional crisis in which we sadly find ourselves oppressively immersed, how about contacting our legislators and saying they could say our silly chant tonight instead of dutifully applauding any further lies and distortions of this lousy unenlightened leader? It's at least a wonderfully appropriate fantasy.

Some of it was written prior to the mid terms and posted before. Please excuse any redundancy.

"Of course using prayer sounds irrational but so are those in power. They have consistently refuted all rational tools and arguments, even when based on heaps of compelling evidence, and have done so with presumed impunity and no accountability for 6 years if you haven't noticed.

They simply dismiss and marginalize our claims as being "reality based." TRANSLATION: They are using low level magic and mind control. They are masterful at "group think." We have not been so but perhaps we can focus similarly for a change. Theirs is based on falsehood and fear whereas if we draw from truth and love and humor, can you imagine what may be possible. . ?"

"Yes empirical evidence is always a very fine thing indeed.

Among progressive thinkers are some of the greatest intellects in this land. I've watched in bewildered astonishment for the past six years, academics and experts in diverse fields. . .statistics, computer science, history, culture, the environment, education, economics, psychiatry, etc. . .have all of their empirical evidence dismissed and defined as nothing more than "reality based."

I've watched the land I love that was once respected around the world as the "land of the lively discussion" deteriorate to intractable divisiveness and the disempowering myth foisted upon us that there are now only two possible points of view. Our national dialogue has digressed into shouting matches when it used to be far more inspiringly nuanced.

I'm saddened by the perversion of the labels of both "conservative" and "liberal," the former having morphed into extremism and the latter having been inappropriately demonized.

I watch our leader get away with misrepresenting everything of which he speaks. That coupled with the "disingenuous nomenclature" ("Hack America Vote Act" anyone?) of most all recent legislative acts, irks me to no end. The media's complicity and the public's apathy and lack of focus has disheartened me.

If their approach is one based on illogic, and our finest minds have been drawing solely from fact and intellect and it has seemed as though these brilliant minds are doing nothing more than repeatedly hitting their heads against a huge wall of deceit, I thought why not engage our right brains AS WELL AS our left brains. . ? Thereby we may possibly trump the obfuscation of the truth which has had us in a virtual stranglehold for all these years.

I am hardly suggesting that prayer and affirmation would solve everything and am in no way encouraging inaction or complacency.

OTOH, there have been many times that I've been stymied in my life and felt as though I couldn't think my way out of a paper bag.

Those who employ the methodology of prayer and affirmations have often recognized practical solutions to possible resolutions and rectifications of problems that we had not been aware of prior to employing these techniques. So they help some to overcome blocks and motivate redemptive action.

Prayer and affirmations were never suggested as panacea for all that plagues this land. It would indeed be laughable to think so. However as supplemental techniques to help empower people to recognize their options for curative action, many find them helpful.

Most of spiritual orientations learned long ago to balance the physical and spiritual planes and too much focus on one of those levels can undermine the other. Again these suggestions are supplementary and not exclusive of other noble and traditional endeavors and forms of activism."

Full Kudos and thanks to OPERATIONMINDCRIME for coining the chant when he was funnily mocking my election day prayer and helderheid for designing the lovely logo, and Clark 2008 for inspiring this notion which is at the very least, a wonderfully appropriate fantasy.

DISCLAIMER: Ooga, Booga, Smooga, Wooga" is in no way shape or form even remotely a racial smear!!! It is entirely celebratory of some modicum of checks and balances being reestablished.
