Who Will Control Iraqi Oil?
This is bothering me.
The fact that in virtually 100% of all television discussions ("if it ain't on TV it didn't happen"), regarding Iraq, that no one is talking about the conflict over who will control Iraqi oil.

How much is this dilemma of who will control the rights to Iraqi oil (foreign corporate interests or domestically controlled) playing in the upheaval in Iraq?

I suspect this is playing a MAJOR role in the civil war, confusion, and lack of continuity of their 'government'.

What is your opinion?
Why is this being ignored?
Anyone have some good links where I can get more info?

1. This just KILLS me
Iraqis know it's all about stealing their oil. What do you think they are fighting for? Think about it! This is so corrupt and god knows how America can recover its reputation in the world because YOUR press may not mention it but the rest of the world knows.

It's so evil and so blatant. Even in the UK it was front page news and Blair was in it for the oil too. But they at least have a free press.

There was a long discussion about this WEEKS ago on CBC radio.

I am rooting for the Iraqis. I think you should get the hell out and leave them their oil. You have destroyed their country and killed more than 665,000 of their people. Is this not a war crime? Never mind the torture and the looting and all the rest of it. America's reputation is in tatters now. No wonder. But if you read CONFESSIONS OF AN ECONOMIC HIT MAN this is nothing new. Just more blatant.

2. yes it is blatant
So blatant and the USA news media barely covers it.
It's no wonder considering who the 5 corporations who own our media are.
