I work for a large retail store and work with a LOT of younger folks. When we get to talking about some of the decisions that come down from corporate, I not-so-subtly point out that these decisions that make little sense and spell more work for US, are specifically designed to make already rich people even richer.

I don't talk politics, per se. I just leave a little pin-prick of thought in place. Something to chew on. It's easy to do in such an environment because there are ALWAYS things that make us go "WTF?"

I do the same with customers on occasion, when they question a policy that doesn't make sense--either OURS, or one of our suppliers. "Oh, you know, I say. It doesn't make sense to US, maybe, but rest assured someone else is making a LOT of money off of it."

Everybody nods and smiles at this point.

The way I see it, every little bit helps. Us little people don't have to stand on a street corner and preach. Sometimes all it takes is the right word in the right ear.

I do it as often as I can, too.

I talk to the check-out people in the grocery store, the ordinary people I see around town. Anything to make people question the current mess will help.
