A federal judge dismissed former CIA operative Valerie Plame's lawsuit against members of the Bush administration Thursday
By MATT APUZZO, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - A federal judge dismissed former CIA operative Valerie Plame's lawsuit against members of the Bush administration Thursday, eliminating one of the last courtroom remnants of the leak scandal.

Plame, the wife of former Ambassador Joseph Wilson, had accused Vice President Dick Cheney and others of conspiring to leak her identity in 2003. Plame said that violated her privacy rights and was illegal retribution for her husband's criticism of the administration.

U.S. District Judge John D. Bates dismissed the case on jurisdictional grounds and said he would not express an opinion on the constitutional arguments. Bates dismissed the case against all defendants: Cheney, White House political adviser Karl Rove, former White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby and former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage...

2. (aside) Forum rules recognize that the sheer number of GD posts result in some dupes:
Duplicate Topics and Spamming

Do not post duplicate topics that have already been posted. There are different levels of enforcement in different forums. For example, the Latest Breaking News forum has extremely strict rules against duplicate topics, but the General Discussion forum is much more lenient. Cross posting of duplicates in the two General Discussion forums is not permitted. Cross-posting of duplicates in other forums is occasionally permitted if there is a clear reason for doing so.

Just an FYI. Latest Breaking News, as noted, is our most strict forum as the news compendium 'of record'. The Administrators realize General Discussion forums are more fluid, especially across a number of time zones.

A long-term project dating back to Nixon; And it's going to be a long-term project to undo the damage.

5. No legal recourse. I don't understand this at all.
The judge says they didn't make a good enough argument that the case should be held in a federal court.

WTF?

Covert CIA officers are federal agents, so what state did the judge think the case should be filed in?

Makes no sense to me.

6. Look what the courts did to the Christic Institute
We're all now on the level of the Christic Institute for them. Justice is
now purchased or won through servitude to the tyrant.

8. SO it was OK to pursue two different cases against the president
of the United States....Paula JOnes and Genevive Flowers (don't exactly remember her first name). But you can't pursue a case against a vice president and a president's adviser. Damn what's the difference, OH I know the president was democratic and the VP is a republican. That's how it works folks when you are a dictatorship.
