Please, Congress: do something
They can't stop the escalation
They can't stop the war
They can't change Bush's budget proposal
They can't even pass a friggin non-binding resolution.
They can't stop PNAC.

Our citizens are being maimed and dying while killing innocent Iraqis.

DO SOMETHING

6. That's right. You congresspeople are in the amazing position of being able to do the RIGHT thing, at
the right time for, most importantly, the right REASON...all of which will play very well with 70% plus of their constituents back home. How often do lawmakers have that kind of juxaposition of win/win and win again?

Sure, the risk is there, god knows what this cabal is capable of, but if you have a strong collective voice, there are too many of you, backed by millions of us, for them to go after all of you, or us.

You can be a powerful voice, and, again, DO THE RIGHT THING TO THE THUNDEROUS APPLAUSE OF YOUR CONSTITUENTS AND THE REST OF THE COUNTRY.

The time is here, the time is NOW. MKJ

7. That would be nice.
There is no easy way out of the death, dying, and national disgrace Bush got America into...however, it'll be a lot easier to "do something" once enough of Congress stops pretending the invasion was good, legal, or just. When enough of Congress stops pretending that Bush and his administration aren't a bunch of war criminals. When enough of Congress stops pretending America isn't a war crime nation. When enough of Congress stops pretending there can be "victory" or a "win". When enough of Congress stops pretending there is honor to be had in any of it. When enough of Congress stops pretending America isn't in the wrong - top to bottom, beginning to end - regarding Iraq.

But until Congress stops pretending....getting out of Iraq will take the same kind of lying and manipulation getting into Iraq took

The bid to "save face" is now keeping America in Iraq. People were dying for lies...now they are dying to protect those lies and to "save face" for America...not just Bush...but America. What Bush has gotten away with, and continues to get away with, is America's shame.

recommended.....because I chant that all the time "do something!"

9. impeaachment is a Congressional imperative if only to . . .

10. It is as if there was a coop when Bush took the election
that had been in the planning since Nixon. Slowly, insidiously, they took the media, and the voting booths, and marginalized the courts, and the enemy became open-mindedness (liberal). When they gained power, they infiltrated science and history and the schools.

And the other side stood mute afraid for their political lives to speak. After all, look what the machine did to Clinton. We have no one with the guts to stand up to the machine. And I fear we are not at the middle of the coop, but at the end.

Congress--one of three EQUAL branches of government--is powerless. The courts are infiltrated with neo-cons and rendered powerless to stop it.

What is the option short of impeachment?

11. It is far more effective to rail against their obstruction of the bipartisan resolution
than against opposition to a partisan one.
