TDS just had a clip of Inhofe claiming
That the global warming hoax was all about money and fear. He said something like "How would the Weather Channel's ratings be if no one was scared anymore?"

And this was on Fox News.

Has anyone seen the video been posted somewhere by chance?

1. Funny thing about the Weather Channel is that people have always
liked it. We watch it less now because they have too many "shows" on it. TWC is a favorite for leaving on all night in some patients' hospital rooms.

2. Now substitute TWC with Faux News
and it still applies, doesn't it?

4. Senator Inhofe's Big Dirty Inconvenient Truth (exposing them, one by one)
I didn't see the video but always have to get the barf bag every time I see his (Inhofe's) name. He is so well connected to Big Oil and especially Koch Oil based in Oklahoma (how convenient).

Exposing these corporate whores is what I do now because their connections are vast and their unending supply of petro dollars amazes me. Endless Think Tanks who spawn yet more climate change denial from so called "respected" scientists to the shills who we already know about including Lindzen, Singer, Dr. Tim Ball (very active in Canada now), and for more names of many of the worst of them, refer to the list from Daily Kos here:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/6/26/11550/9864

Also, from Harvard Dems, this great little peak into where Senator Inhofe gets his money and who pays his "rent" so to speak. :puke:

Posted on Tue, 10/03/2006 - 12:12am by Hayley Jade Fink
Last week, the Chair for the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Senator Inhofe, made a speech on the Senate floor “debunking” the "myth" of global warming. He made vicious attacks on Al Gore (which doesn’t seem politically motivated at all considering that Inhofe is a Republican) and cited scientists who receive checks from Exxon-Mobile in the mail.

Speaking of checks—let’s take a look at where Inhofe’s campaign money comes from!
--When he was elected in 2002, he was the politician who received the 3rd largest sum of money ($462,015) from the energy and natural resources sector—meaning the oil and gas, electricity and mining sectors

--This year he has received close to $600,000 from this same sector

--5 of his top 6 contributors are: Murray Energy, Koch Industries (a gigantic oil conglomerate), National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, Cummins Inc (Designer and manufacturer of power generation equipment, power systems, gasoline engines), and OGE energy

--The top two industries that support him are oil and gas contributing $314,208 and electric companies contributing $191,907

Looks like the only inconvenient truth may be that he gets the vast majority of his funding from you guessed it oil/gas and electric companies—That couldn’t possibly be either a HUGE conflict of interest or the reason why he is attacking the vast scientific consensus on global warming, could it?

Gee I wonder why Inhofe gave this little speech in the Senate the other day…

I think the answer has much more to do with political science than climate science.

It's just amazing that we have a Senator who's THAT STUPID! :banghead:

7. Weather Channel's Dr. Heidi Cullen is now public enemy #1 with the Neocons
since she became so vocal about global climate change.
I'm assuming that the folks who run this channel are behind here because she's getting flamed alot from the right wing press. As always, Exxonmobil is usually behind these attacks since they have all the money in the world. Look at this latest attack on her program about global warming from WorldNetDaily (yet another oil soaked corporate whore):

The Weather Channel is launching a new website and broadband channel dedicated solely to global warming called "One Degree" and has a weekly program called "The Climate Code," devoted almost entirely to liberal advocacy on climate matters.

The network is running advertisements showcasing scared and confused Americans, including children and senior citizens, wondering about the coming apocalypse caused by global warming. (You can view the ad for yourself here.)

(excerpt)

The chief martyr for the new "emotional" approach to broadcasting at The Weather Channel is Dr. Heidi Cullen, who serves as the network's cheerleader for global warming hysteria. Cullen's supposed expertise on climatology includes, among other things, earning a bachelor's degree in Near Eastern religions and history from Juniata College. One must indeed have to believe in the mystical to accept anything Ms. Cullen has to say about climatology.

Writing for the One Degree blog, Ms. Cullen recently threw a hissy fit that some meteorologists are openly questioning the conclusions drawn by the Greenpeace crowd about the nature, extent, causes and even existence of global warming.

George Orwell's 1984 couldn't have concocted a better form of thought control.

The global warming crowd, led by arrogant hustlers such as Heidi Cullen at The Weather Channel, has set up a no-lose situation for themselves.

This is all about Big Brother do-gooders trying to control how you live your life, and stripping away the freedoms and liberties of people to live their lives as they see fit, engage in commerce and raise their families.

There's a con job going on at The Weather Channel, and it's time that viewers let the network know it's time to stop the liberal politicization of weather reporting.

You can contact The Weather Channel's vice president of public relations, Kathy Lane, at klane@weather.com to let her know what you think about the new direction of The Weather Channel and voice your opinion.
http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=53636

Dr. Cullen was on Larry King Live last week, speaking to the climate change issue and did a stellar job of providing a very clear picture of the "problem." Also, Wonya Lucas, executive Vice president, general manager of the Weather Channel station is NOT connected to Big Oil, thankfully - so far as my research has been able to find.

I think they are on the good side of life now so maybe we should give them a big
:toast: !!!

8. The rightwingers ignore a very important point
That Al Gore brings up in his movie.

He points out that in the peer-reviewed scientific press, there is 100% agreement that global warming is real, and it's gonna get worse. In other words, it's just as accepted as Newton's and Einstein's laws of motion.

9. exactly right!
we know it but alot of people do not. On many other forums, there are a huge number of Exxon Astroturfers, paid to post - who flame the hell out of Heidi Cullen, the Weather Channel, and anybody else who speak up about these issues.

Keith Olbermann's message board just got hammered by them a couple of days ago after he dared to mention global warming and how Exxonmobil pays for the climate skeptics. We really need to support these folks who have the guts to speak out - not alot of them around except for DU!
