10. insurgent = war hero
Americans can be KIA in Iraq, or they can be killed, or they can be collateralized. They can even be assassinated.

I don't think there's a way for an American to be "murdered" per se in Iraq unless it's by another American.

19. Oh, I'm painfully aware of that, Jack Rabbit.
In six years I have never referred to bush as *resident. See, I can't even spell it out.

I was making a quick tongue-in-cheek swipe at the bush rationale.

:hi:

9. Iraqi lawmaker blamed in Kuwait bombings
Iraqi lawmaker blamed in Kuwait bombings now aids Iran, militias, U.S. says

BAGHDAD (CNN) -- A man sentenced to death in Kuwait for the 1983 bombings of the U.S. and French embassies now sits in Iraq's parliament as a member of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's ruling coalition, according to U.S. military intelligence,

Jamal Jafaar Mohammed's seat in parliament gives him immunity from prosecution, but Washington now says he supports Shiite insurgents and acts as an Iranian agent in Iraq.

Repeated efforts to reach Jamal Jafaar Mohammed for comment through the parliament, through the ruling Shiite Muslim coalition and the Badr Organization -- the Iranian-backed paramilitary organization he once led -- have been unsuccessful.

A Kuwaiti court sentenced Jamal Jafaar Mohammed to death in 1984 in the car bombings of the U.S. and French embassies the previous December, which killed five people and wounded 86. He had fled the country by then, but Western intelligence agencies also accuse him of involvement in the hijacking of a Kuwaiti airliner in 1984 and the attempted assassination of a Kuwaiti prince.

28. Everything with the oil is A-OK as long as the US Army is there.
That is why the US Army is there. To protect the goose that lays golden eggs for Exxon, Halliburton, Blackwater, and all the other profiteering corporations.

23. Let me guess, he's in the Dawa Party?
Maliki was its Damascus man during the 80's and I think I heard he was involved in Hezbollah's Iranian-sponsored rise to prominence?

11. Attacks on a military force are not acts of terror. It is a dreadful thing
and the lives of the soldiers killed is tragic and we mourn their loss, but it is not "terrorism".

That is in no way an endorsement of this subjects actions, and if he was involved in the targeting of Iraqi civilians, then it is terrorism, but we should use proper terms.

24. This is just a wonderful line:
Jamal Jafaar Mohammed's seat in parliament gives him immunity from prosecution...

Is that right? Hmm...

Just imagine what the Pukes at CNN had to do to get that line into the story.

26. Terrorists
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_David_Hotel_bombing

The King David Hotel bombing (July 22, 1946) was a bombing attack against the British government of Palestine by members of Irgun — a militant Zionist organization.

The Irgun, dressed as Arabs, exploded a bomb at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, which had been the base for the British Secretariat, the military command and a branch of the Criminal Investigation Division (police). Ninety-one people were killed, most of them staff of the secretariat and the hotel<1>: 28 British, 41 Arab, 17 Jewish, and 5 other. Around 45 people were injured.

The attack was initially ordered by Menachem Begin, the head of the Irgun, who would later become Israeli Prime Minister. The attack was commanded by Yosef Avni and Yisrael Levi.

I seem to recall that the US supported the Begin Government.
