I see you still don't have a "general topic" on the pull-down menu above this email submission form titled "Iraq war." Maybe your systems people should provide such an option, given that the Iraq war is the number one issue cited by Americans in most polls, cited by them as having driven their election decisions in 2006. Given the attitude of Republican President George W. Bush, the Iraq war will doubtless be a major issue come the elections of 2008.
I contacted you three times, beginning in August 2002 and continuing through Spring 2003, urging you to help stop Bush's ill-justified, irrational rush to war. You voted to grant Bush the power to make his mess anyway. Look where we are now.
Now I write you to urge you to vote to stop the "surge" in Iraq and to preempt Bush's next huge mess: war against Iran, lest you are complicit in creating an even bigger mess for our military, for our nation, and for the world.
Will you stand up for what is rational and what is right this time? Stand strong (and vote!) against the surge, and stand up against Bush's drive for war on Iran.
