Senator Smith is a disgrace to the party.
That pathetic little creature is trying to disrupt Congress and make is doing nothing except embarassing us, and being divisive.

He has the gall to insult Senator Paine? How dare he! Senator Paine is a wonderful man!

These sort of stunts only hurt the cause. I've got to wonder who Senator Smith is working for. I say anybody who supports Senator Smith should be drummed out of this website, and the party. Also keep a look out for those kids he's got running around spreading his lies.

7. I read somewhere
that 'Mr. Smith goes to Washington' was an attack on FDR and the Democratic 'machine' politics. Consider which party controlled all three branches at the time it was made.

8. You know, there's a lot of different ways to look at that movie.
Everybody thinks it's real cheesy, and has an over the top happy ending. Except it doesn't really have a happy ending, it just ends and lets the viewer decide for himself, and most people come to the happy conclusion. If you're a cynic, like me, boss Taylor still controls the media so the people never find out about it, Smith never relinquishes the floor so Paine's confession can be stricken from the record, Smith still loses his job and goes home in disgrace, Paine keeps his job, and Taylors thugs still rough up Smith's scouts.
