Terror Free Oil? Paging Mr. Orwell... Paging Mr. Oilwell...
Why does this remind me of the "Two Minutes of Hate"? The real conundrum here is that the United States is the largest state sponsor of terrorism on the planet. To be compliant with their new mandate the terror free oil people should just declare bankruptcy and call it a day. Oh, and please DU this poll.

Terror-Free Oil Initiative is dedicated to encouraging Americans to buy gasoline that originated from countries that do not export or finance terrorism.

We educate the public by promoting those companies that acquire their crude oil supply from nations outside the Middle East and by exposing those companies that do not.

We are also looking into creating a healthy debate concerning alternate methods of fuel production and consumption.

1. I think the "real conundrum" is made quite clear by that website
I don't know why it makes you think of 1984's "Two Minutes of Hate".

A company that says that Middle Eastern oil is full of terrorism. What does that even mean? It is a manifestation of hatred toward Arabs. That is why it reminds me of Orwell's "two minutes of hate" a reminder by the coporate state of whom he are supposed to be "hating".

3. I think it can be taken in several ways
one is that the US govt supports a regime in an oil nation that has extremist Islam as its state religion - same extremist Islam that is a major factor in terrorism. That's regardless of exactly on who's behalf those terrorists operate and who funds them.

Then again it is quite possible it is not the intention of this website to leave that aspect out and to spin it another way.
So perhaps i was optimistically jumping to conclusions.

4. The real joke is that they use the WTC in their logo
All they're doing is capitalizing on the deaths of 3,000 people and the resultant fear after the WTC attacks.

Hmm. Kind of like Bush.
