Constructing a new Hillary
Edited on Sun Jul-08-07 08:33 AM by ikojo
Seems Hillary is undergoing a makeover. As we all know, a makeover is a false temporary representation of who a person really is. In the article it mentions they are playing the "children" card...she turned down high paying jobs in a law firm to help the chiiiillldrennnn. How sweet. Meanwhile, IMHO, policies supported by her and her husband (NAFTA, GATT, WTO etc) have led to increased poverty in the US by encouraging jobs to flee the United States for lower wage countries.

Yeah THAT really helps the chiiiillldrennnn.

constructing A NEW Hillary

In Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's relentless mission to convert her doubters, every grasp of the microphone, every empathetic nod, every studied recitation of fact matters. In the span of an hour's town hall meeting, an assured performance can bring a few more skeptics into the fold.

To that end, the Clinton campaign is deep into a concerted, poll-tested effort to sway the public conversation about her in the primary states where it matters most, portraying her as Midwestern family woman and accomplished national leader instead of the lightning rod for ceaseless political warfare.

snip

Clinton has the highest unfavorable ratings of any Democratic candidate — both among surveys of potential general election voters and in polling among her own party's likely voters. Even as she has solidified her standing in the Democratic race, her unfavorable ratings in recent national polls have teetered in the mid-40 percent to low-50 percent range among likely general election voters.

The Clinton campaign has salted bullet-points from Clinton's biography into mailers and website promos, all aimed at recasting the New York senator's image. It is a delicate task for her and her handlers — humanizing her edges without blurring the campaign's simultaneous effort to portray her as a super-capable, seasoned centrist, an inevitable front-runner.

1. get your polls, get your polls right here.
fresh off the rack, get your polls.

the one thing that her campaign does best is to poll an issue to death, wait for others to take a leadership roll on it, (and take the heat), whereupon, she proclaims that she has always led on that precise issue - only from behind.

50% of DEMOCRATS can't stand her. no way can she be elected. her nomination would set back our country for an entire generation.

4. Her name will still be Clinton and she will still
pursue the neo liberal pro corporate, anti worker agenda.

She will still triangulate on issues such as gay marriage.

She will still support big pharma and the big insurance companies over the needs of average Americans.

It'll be the same pro big business Hillary but all spruced up by polling!
