Observation: No Democratic Candidate Made An Appearance At A Live Earth Concert Yesterday

We watched most of the day and evening. I didn't see any of the Democratic contenders for the Presidential nomination to candidacy dancing around in the crowd or up on the stage anywhere. Well, maybe that's not exactly true. Someone got a lot more positive exposure yesterday than all of the other candidates have in all the debates held to date.

Think about that for a moment.

1. I don't think it would be appropriate for political contenders to come

to an event that is supposed to be for the world... It was a worldwide event, not a political tool.. Let it be what it was.

5. Any of them could have offered support for the cause without selfpromotion - like Al did

2. They would not have been welcome. Gore has gone out of his way to say over and over again that his

cause is not a political cause but a human one. By inviting politicians, he would be dividing people into Democrats or Republics - even more than they already are.

3. "Live Earth"

was featured on Obama's official site and it included a video of Obama praising Al Gore and "Live Earth" but it would have been inappropriate for him or any of the candidates to attend a concert. This was bigger than any presidential primary.

Gore is sort of an undeclared Candidate - if one of officially declared Candidates shows up wouldn't that look like they were supporting an opponent?

it would be like Guilliani showing up at a Fred Thompson Lazy-Boy recliner sale...
