shocking!

I think she is doing a parody about the haircut.

Here are five things you might not know about John Edwards:

¶He never saw a single episode of “The Sopranos.”

¶He doesn’t like the opera, but his favorite musical is “Phantom of the Opera.”

¶His first date with Elizabeth was dancing at the Holiday Inn in Durham or Chapel Hill — he can’t remember which — sometime after which she made an ironclad rule that politicians should never dance.

¶He became a lawyer because as a kid he loved watching “Perry Mason,” “The Defenders” and “The Fugitive.” (Richard Kimble really needed a lawyer.)

¶His top sex symbol is a fellow North Carolinian, Andie MacDowell.

It's behind the firewall but she paints him as a regular guy. Almost unassuming. I bet it was because I sent her an email last week telling her she sounded like a high school girl for her trashing piece on Hillary. (Kidding) This column has a couple of snarks but nothing like she usually does.

1. probably a response to all the negative feedback about the poverty center story

that was such bs.

I am glad that they are doing a more positive piece, but what does a politician have to do to get an article on their Universal Health Care plan?

Interesting that they put this one in the op/ed section.

3. I actually don't expect it to last
who the hell knows what/who she thinks should run this country. She hates everyone and while I admit there is no perfect candidate for me (maybe Wes Clark) I do NOT publish crap about the decent ones in the paper!

6. The faux sophisticate Ms. Dowd is painting him as a simpleton rube. (In her view.)
She makes the pretense of being a modern incarnation of Dorothy Parker but she's not fit to recycle the estimable Ms. Parker's toilet paper.
