I just got home from work, and SHE JUST INTRODUCED GORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am in love with her. Yeah, I know, she is a lesbian. But I love her anyway. As a human being. And as a musician.
You can respect the person's message, yet dislike his/her music. Kanye West was dead right and spot on with his comments that Bush "doesn't care about black people" yet I cannot stand his music or rap as music genre.
6. One of the most amazing performances I've ever seen
She DID rock the world, didn't she?
I think that was the best one yet.....and, of course, she sang of more than just climate change....she sang of a change in our democracy....she wants us to take back Democracy. Monday morning.
20. Here's part of what she said as best as I could capture...

Americaaaaaaaaaa.
What happened to us? I mean last thing I remember I was like in eighth grade right? I was in like eighth grade and I remember sitting in my eighth grade social studies class and I remember that was the first time I heard about this global warming stuff and I remember thinking that was like something that was gonna happen in the future and I remember thinking I am sure glad that is some thing that is gonna be taken care of so that when I become an adult I don't have to worry about his global warming stuff. Because people were doing things back then because it was America. People were standing up to unjust war. College students were standing up and marching and they were being shot and killed. And do you know what else happened? I remember back when I was a kid we had a president who was a criminal do you remember that? People were standing up and saying uh-uh…our democracy is sacred.
What happened to us? I mean it was wasn’t it gonna be the year two thousand that we were gonna have flying cars and stuff? What happened to us?
<snip>
I have been through some things you see I have jumped off into the dark end. I have worked my fingers to the bone you know and I have achieved the American dream. The big beautiful American dream…and that’s no easy feat. At least that is what they say. They say I’m different but you now what as of today I am done being different. That is how they have kept up down so long because we stopped thinking about ourselves as Americans and we starting looking at out differences…
The American dream is freedom. Freedom. Just because freedom does not have a brand name does not mean it is not the most important thing to us.
Tell the truth...I am not different I am an American and you know what I am an American citizen of the whole wide world...and we will come up from this... speak the truth no matter how inconvenient it is because there is no difference between us and them...
Imagine all of us rising up on Monday morning saying enough. Enough. I don't care if my credit cards are maxed out I am stopping now and saying enough.
She also said people should ask people "are you awake" and put signs in their car windows with the same phrase.
