2. Watching it
Who was Kurt Cobain again? Sorry but Dave Grohl has put out a better body of work than Nirvana ever did. He's even a better singer than Kurt was. Sorry old DJ angst manifesting itself. I go now.

27. I sooooooo totally agree
I kind of liked Nirvana, but I wasn't a huge fan.
From the second the Foo Fighters came on to the scene
they have been my favorite band.
Some of those songs are so tight & performed so beautifully.
Every CD they have put out has rocked my socks off!

30. It's weird. nirvana was so dark (oooh I loved them) but
Dave came out with this light upbeat (mostly) stuff and the foos are now my all time faves infinity.

See them live if you can -- thay're fabulous.

3. London has the best lineup.
Even the Black-Eyed-Peas were tolerable (did I just say that?)

Has Kasabian played yet? I'm watching on TiVo.

5. Hell yes, London does.
The Pussycat Dolls were tolerable, even (volume turned WAY down). The Beasties and Tap were what I really wanted to see, but I'm sticking with it. I want to see the show Madonna puts on.

9. That's why I was ranting a couple posts above
Sadly in R+R history "Nirvana" will have this huge chapter and Dave Grohl will be a footnote in that band. FF proves he was a better artist than Kurt because he stuck around to keep granting us the pleasure of his art. That being said I think Courtney probably did have him murdered but he would have got there himself.

11. Oooh, brave soul
I've been saying that for years, but I figure rabid Nirvana fans would shoot me for it. :) Bottom line, for me, Cobain can't hold a candle to Dave. Dave has the talent, the personality, the clearheadedness, and lightheartedness necessary to be a major success in music. Plus, he just fuckin' rocks out EVERY time he takes the stage.

15. Just an amazing range of voice on him too actually
little hoarse today but, yeah, everytime I see them or hear a new tune I wonder why he wasn't the frontman back in the day. Probably good for us he wasn't. It was as much success as heroin or anything else (wink) that killed Kurt.

28. Dave Grohl blows Kurt Cobain away.
The way he plays- the things he plays- the way he sings- and his lyrics...
I think he is THE SHIT.
My 52 year old mother LOVES the Foo Fighters

10. Help me out?
How are you viewing--TV or streaming?

The only TV coverage I can find is Bravo, and I'm getting a little tired of Ludacris.

Are there other channels carrying this?

TIA

12. On the MSN Live Earth website you can pick your own feed
You can't do it on dialup, and need IE for the best reception:

20. Now you guys. . .
Why pray tell must you immedietely launch into a comparison of Cobain and Grohl. . .?

They may have been in a band together but they are truly horses of different stripes. (excuse the cliche)

If memory serves Grohl was involved politically to some degree in the NW.

His energy tonight was unquestionably powerful.

Just wish he'd get that cross of from around his neck but that's just my sacred geometric opinion.

That was a phenomenal performance IMHO.

23. Do you know the origin of the name of the band then. . .?
It was allegedly the squandron of air force fighter who chased around UFO's in the 40's.

How funny is that. . .?
