"The Diaries of Private Henry Hill" by Blow Up Hollywood

This is a concept album, in the Pink Floyd genre. It is based on the writings of Private Henry Hill, KIA in Iraq. The lyrics are all from the entries in his diary. It doesn't necessarily make any political statements about the war, but it's simply a portrait of the war from a soldier's point of view.

The band is one of my favorites. They are masters at mixing strings, synthesized sounds (in this case to mimic the sounds of war), and the lead's voice is fabulous. Listen to the samples from iTunes Music Store, or your favorite music source.
