I'm starting to feel sorry for Laura Bush.
Isn't that awful. But how could she even be married to someone like George? She has never come across as evil or stupid, I don't think. She just seems really white bread to me. The good wife.

I would want to find a deep hole and stay in it if I had to deal with the stuff she is facing right now. Reminds me of poor Nixon's wife. She was just pathetic.

1. On the contrary. Evil and stupid define her.
She killed her first boyfriend and then married into the Bush Crime Family.

Evil and Stupid.

she is a grown woman, she is probably oblivious to know what is going on, she doesn't want to hurt her beautiful mind either.

10. Remember, she fought against having Stupid in politics
and she always wanted to stay far in the background.

I feel sorry for any First Lady. They're always lightning rods for criticism of fashion, decor, speaking voice, hair style, and every other trivial thing shallow people feel compelled to comment on.

I feel especially sorry for First Ladies who are married to dopes they tied themselves to when they were much, much younger.

21. Right, I've seen her hit hard at critics, so fuck her. I'd feel sorry for her if she kept out of it
but she likes to jump into the fray.

As his wife she has responsibility to rein him in where possible, yet she allows him to run roughshod over the entire country (and others), so screw Laura Welch Bush.

5. At some point, the Eva Brauns and Clara Petaccis have to answer for....
..their affiliation. You don't just accidentally marry into a CIA-connected, fascism-based dynasty of a family. Even with that little pathetic palsied monkey claw wave of hers, I still don't feel sorry. She made her choice and stuck by it. And that damns her as much as anyone else who sticks by a madman.

years. She never signed on for this stuff.

Boy would I hate to be in her shoes. You would feel like you would need to divorce the idiot just to save any kind of face at all.

Sucks to be her.

42. We don't really know what she signed on for.
But we can guess that the Bush family point of view was fairly clear to her even early on. Somewhere along the line she started to participate in the game (see my post below about her role in reinforcing the Swift Boaters and the mocking of Michael J. Fox).

She is not clueless and she is always saying such "supportive" words about this regime.

She is guilty and in the year 2007, she is an insult to Woman everywhere.

6. Ask Michael Douglas about Laura Bush.
Oh, wait...you can't. She killed him in a car crash in 1963 when he was just 17 years old. Seems she ran a stop sign. On a clear night. At an intersection she had been through hundreds of times before. It was at night, he was heading toward the intersection at a right angle with his headlights on.

How could she have not seen him?

Oh, and there are reports that she had been dating him, and that he had recently broken up with her. He was in a small, lightweight Corvair, Laura was in a full size Impala. Coincidence? Accident? Perhaps. But she's stuck by the idiot all these years, she's watched him hurt others, be responsible for thousands of deaths, and yet she sticks by him.

I don't feel sorry for her at all. I think she's a nasty, evil woman. If you don't believe me, just check out the hatred on her face at Coretta Scott King's funeral:

Nice, eh? The woman could squirt battery acid out of her eyes. How disrespectful.

24. In all fairness George was being roasted.
There's a lot I remember about Jimmy Carter. But I can't ever remember seeing him visibly angry. As he has been of lately. I think he finally figured out Bush Sr. is a treacherous bastard that set him up and sacked him with the Gas Crisis and the Iran Hostage thing. It's just the Bush style.

34. When you do the things the Bushes have done, being roasted is part of the
package. They should have expected it.

They had no business being at Mrs. King's funeral. She was the exact opposite of Bush, worked hard all her life for equality and fairness, and he has separated the country like no other person has ever done.

* and Mrs. * should have just stayed home. They weren't fooling anyone with their appearance, it was all a photo op to them.

Look at their body language, how disrespectful to Mrs. King. * can't even sit up straight, he's slumped over like he could care less. To most in attendance, it was an honor to attend the funeral of such a great American.

You are right about Carter as well. He has been very angry lately, and that is not something you would normally expect from him. It would not surprise me at all if Bush Sr. was manipulating the things you mentioned with the aid of Reagan and the rest of the GOP. Using Americans to further their political agenda is not new to them.

She's genuinely nice and likable. As for how she ended up with George. I'm thinking she's an old fashioned girl that thought she could fix him. She's a smart lady. Maybe she'll learn something from Iraq? Somethings just can't be fixed. No matter how hard you try. They just can't be fixed.

36. Just remember that every time Chucklenuts gets his tit in a wringer
out comes Pickles to divert the attention. "Sweet Pickles" is just so nice, and kind, and gentle. No, no, no. She is a tool, just like Chimpy - used by the reichwing, neocons haters - and she allows herself to be used all the while plastering a fake smile on her Joker face.

She supports sending other people's children to fight a faux war just so she and Chucklenuts can enjoy the perks of the job. Her kids aren't in that war. Remember "I'm going to fight this war even if Pickles (I paraphrase here) and Barney are the only ones to support me." I think Chimpy spoke too soon for Barney but I'm betting Pickles will hang in to the bitter end. She is as corrupt and vile as her husband.

We have a zonked out, Xanaxed up, scotch swilling, chain smoking, air head (honestly, she can't be too smart if she married Chimpy) spouting nonsense about gangs and drugs and war and education without a clue of having an honest opinion except what KKKarl has told her to say. If you aren't part of the solution, Pickles, dear, than you are part of the problem. And you are a big problem.

Remember the day when First Ladies actually attacked real problems? Eleanor? Jackie O? Lady Bird? Hillary? Or is it just a Democratic First Lady thing?

Pfffft on Pickles.

40. No, it's not just a Democratic First Lady thing...
Betty Ford started her substance abuse center and was active in its operation until recently. Even while in the White House, she didn't hesitate to speak out honestly. I'd say it's more a problem of the Bush family and their retrograde idea of a proper wife.

48. but there's all her work with gangs and stuff
Laura Bush solved the youth gang problem simultaneously (Had solved? will have had solved? We need a tense to describe things the media states as if they were already just on the brink of being accomplished.) And that literacy-thing. And she reads to children on camera. And she, um, er, uh - used to be a librarian. Way back when. For a year or so.

But the point is, she really cares. Karl tells me so.

Bush trots her out whenever he needs cover for his dirty-tricks team's hits. She was out there saying "people say bad things about my Georgie, too" and "there must be some truth in it" (these are paraphrases of what I remember) about the Smear Boaters claims, and she was also publicly repeating the notion that Michael J. Fox's ads in support of candidates in favor of stem cell research was "manipulation." In other words, she's the "prettier" side of Rush Limbaugh. Those are just the first two bad choices Laura's made that come to my mind. She knows her role, and it's to help keep the power and money in the hands of people crapping all over this country.
