The dangerous duo: "cynicism and apathy"
Not here at the DU but with the general public.
Intellectual curiosity into how our government has been taken over by the military/corporate/complex is almost nil.

I hear people claim they are too busy trying to survive and raise kids, etc... yet by the same token they can recite where their favorite professional sports figures played in high school or minute details about Paris and Anna.

I think cynicism and apathy are more dangerous to our country than any foreign terrorist.
I am concerned that cynicism and apathy are winning.

Never give up...never give in!

1. Agreed, but how do you fight cynicism and apathy?
Personally, apathy is not a problem but I fight daily against my own cynicism.

2. I disagree kinda...
I think the public is generally apathetic to the cynical leaders that rule them. In terms of efficiency, I think focusing on cynical leaders is the better way out of an otherwise vicious cycle.
