Tom Hayden was a founding member of the Students for a Democratic Society and author of its visionary call, the Port Huron Statement, described by Howard Zinn as "one of those historic documents which represents an era." Hayden was also one of the famous "Chicago Seven" protesters during the 1968 Democratic Convention. He was elected to the California State Assembly in 1982, and to the state Senate ten years later, serving eighteen years in all.

1. why does Colbert have a problem with bears?

It's hysterically funny how he goes on and on about it, but i often wondered why he's picked on bears, and not wolves, or skunks, or sasquatch?

And now he's picking on dolphins: bears of the sea! Yeah, like tuna is the chicken of the sea. :P

2. Hayden's ex-wife was on the Colbert Report recently as a guest

She sat on Colbert's lap, kissed him, nuzzled him, kept saying he had incredible lips. It was utterly hysterical!
If you have Comcast digital, the segment is posted in the Comedy Central on-demand section. it's probably posted on the Comedy Central website, and I'd be surprised if it's not floating around somewhere in You tube.
