The number of people who believe in a Saddam-9/11 link is going up!
Number of Americans Who Believe Saddam 9/11 Tie Rises to 41%

A new Newsweek poll out this weekend exposed "gaps" in America's knowledge of history and current events.

Perhaps most alarmingly, 41% of Americans answered 'Yes' to the question "Do you think Saddam Hussein’s regime in Iraq was directly involved in planning, financing, or carrying out the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001?"

That total is actually up 5 points since September 2004.

14. The MSM has really failed the country and continues to do so.
This should never have come up as an issue, but all the different news organizations failed to question Bush and his cronies about why we were entering Iraq and if Saddam Hussein had anything to do with 9/11. Obviously, the White House isn't doing anything to discourage the public in linking Saddam to 9/11. But why isn't the media doing more to educate the public.

On a related note, we're seeing nothing but news about how we're fighting al Qeada over in Iraq when in reality, al Qeada only makes up about 5% of the forces we are fighting. Once again, you won't see the WH trying to set the record straight. Quite the contrary, they're doing all they can to tie the two together.

4. I have a theory-more like a hokey hypothesis.
As the earth and our solar system travels around the galaxy, we are constantly entering areas of space that are new and quite alien, having been last visited by us perhaps a hundred million years ago.

As Sol and its family travel around, spending some time above and some below the plane of the galaxy and one or the other of these areas has a heretofore unrecognized form of energy, perhaps a beam or a fog, that is a "stupid ray" to higher forms of brain development. It might be that it only affects primates, but that's hard to measure, sort of like a fish not understanding "wet."

We have passed through the edge of the field and the human race is fated to get stupider and stupider, for the next hundred thousand years or so, ultimately, perhaps, to give way to a new upstart race of critters.

we may well go extinct, or, at least, become the chimpanzees of the next era...some of us are showing signs of that, right now.

5. As the corporate media continues to parrot the government
lie that the war in Iraq is a war against Al-queda, support for the war will increase as will belief in linking Saddam to 9/11/01.

Goebels had it right...repeat the lie often.

6. This makes the Iraq numbers even more damning,
Even with a commonly held belief that Saddam was responsible for 9/11 support for the war against Iraq is extremely weak.

Notice the placement of the question and the formulation of it. It was created to "default" to a positive response.

15. People hate being wrong
They know now that the "war" is a clusterfuck and the only way they can feel good about their original support is to start believing that Iraq had something to do with 9-11.
