New Hillary hate books tank in book sales - nobody cares about the trash it seems

Unfortunately for the authors, the substantial heat around the book has not yet turned into fire at bookstore checkout stands. Nielsen BookScan reported that — as of last Sunday, after 10 days in stores — "Her Way" had sold 7,000 copies. That put it well behind Bernstein's "Woman in Charge," which sold 25,000 copies in its first 13 days. Neither biography was within fighting distance of Clinton's "Living History," the 2003 autobiography that sold 439,000 in its debut week. (BookScan tracks sales at about 70% of retail outlets.)

Both "Her Way" and "A Woman in Charge" are "serious books published with enthusiasm" but might not deliver what readers really want, said Peter Osnos, editor at large for book publisher PublicAffairs.

"If you are a Hillary fan, you don't want to read a book that is really negative. And if you are a Hillary hater, you want a book that really creams her," said Osnos. "Both these books are too straight to … satisfy the Hillary lovers or the Hillary haters."

Van Natta and Gerth say they ran into opposition from the moment they told Clinton's staff they had a book in the works. Many of those they called, including Clinton's colleagues in the Senate, refused to speak, on instructions from Clinton's office, they said. The senator's aides denied that they ordered anyone not to cooperate. But many Clinton loyalists did not require prodding given Gerth's connection to the original Whitewater story.

3. it's been done to death already imo, unless there is some new and i mean new
previously unreported bombshell in there with actual sources i think it's hard for people to get all excited about yet another book on Senator Clinton.

4. Or, nobody wants to read yet another book about the Clintons.
Especially, when they already think they know her. Face it, most people have already made up their minds about her. They are either really FOR her or really AGAINST her. Which is one reason I don't think she would be good as a president. We need a bit of unity, and she is paralyzingly not a unifier.

8. What? Where are the rightwing bulk buyers?
Did they use up all their dough on Hannity, O'Reilly, and Coulter's screeds?
Finally. The rightwing market has become saturated. And there just isn't enough money to go around OR the rightwing billionaires are getting tired of spending their ill-gotten gains on this junk when the public ignores it. The idea was that fixing the bestseller lists would make the ordinary American believes that millions were actually reading this drivel. And believe that America is more conservative than it is.
Guess what? The jig is up. Nobody reads these books. This has been rigged for years. Coulter is an artificially pumped up product. She's manufactured. People don't actually read her books. The books are moldering in warehouses or given out as freebies at rightwing gatherings.
