Is Richard Mellon Scaife of sound mind?
Is one of the biggest funders of the New Right mentally stable? Here's something you may find interesting.

Someone gave Scaife a tip, that the Russian military was secretly invading the US through Allegheny National Forest.

Know what he did?

He actually sent someone from one of the newspapers that he published to go and investigate it. Needless to say, the people in the surrounding area had no idea what the reporter was talking about when he asked them about the supposed Russian invasion.

Is someone whispering in Scaife's ear, And if so, who is it?

Myth: There’s no "vast right wing conspiracy" to get Clinton.

Fact: Richard Mellon Scaife and the Republican Establishment have poured millions into the effort.

Summary:

In the mid-70s, conservative corporations, foundations and politicians organized to reclaim power after 40 years of Democratic government. The result of this well-funded political and media machine was the Reagan Revolution, culminating in Republic control of Congress in 1994. One of the machine’s most important leaders is Richard Mellon Scaife, the billionaire who is financing nearly all the scandals that engulf President Clinton. ....

The Scaife Contribution

Richard Mellon Scaife is a Pittsburgh billionaire who inherited his fortune from the Mellon oil and banking empire. Today he owns the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and oversees the Sarah Scaife, Carthage and Allegheny Foundations. Over the years, Scaife has funded hundreds of high-profile projects that promote the corporate and conservative agenda. Scaife’s money helped create GOPAC, the vehicle that Newt Gingrich used to finance, control and promote Republican candidates in their takeover of Congress in 1994. In fact, Newt admits that Scaife money laid the basis for modern conservatism.

Over one three-year period, Scaife foundations gave nearly $3.5 million to the Heritage Foundation, $1.2 million to the American Enterprise Institute, $1.4 million to the Hoover Institution, $325,000 to the Cato Institute, $575,000 to the Citizens for a Sound Economy, and many other right-wing think tanks. (6) These think tanks disseminate corporate propaganda and policy proposals (dressed up as "studies" and "analysis") for the media and the various branches of government. And they are tremendously influential. In 1981, the Heritage Foundation published its famous Mandate for Leadership, and President Reagan adopted two-thirds of its suggestions in his first year alone. Real academics view think-tank studies as shoddy and often deceptive, but the studies appear sufficiently scholarly and technical to fool lay people. (7) ....

2. I live in Scaife-Mellon country (Pittsburgh suburbs) and he has long tentacles
He has his own mini-media empire with his bird-cage lining newspapers (the competition to the real newspaper, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, is the crap paper the Tribune Review owned by Scaife-Mellon). This RW zealot also bought control of all the local community papers as an extension of his point-of-view.

Yes, he's well known here...but so are the nasty details of his ongoing divorce. Funny how those Folier-than-thou types have the personal dirt.

3. NO NO NO
He is a vindictive spoiled child of a wealthy family.

A loser who has a lot of money and who thinks along the lines of the "divine rights of those born with silver spoons in their mouths"

An alcoholic, rumors still swirl that he murdered his own sister's husband (it was ruled a suicide).

He hates anyone who actually did accumulate their wealth themselves and he hates it even more if they don't agree with him.

He has personally set out to destroy individuals who have crossed him and I happen to know one fellow he locked horns with and who made a point of buying a home in Scaife's neighborhood just to piss him off.

4. Are ANY of these fucking neocon bastards mentally stable?
Someone should legally challenge them to prove it. Starting with Cheney, then Monkey Boy - on 25th amendment grounds.

Scaife bankrolled the 8 year Clinton witch hunt (sorry, witches) which supposedly was about a shady real estate deal, but ended up being about a blow job. In the process, he financed a $50,000 nose job for Paula Jones. I'd say insanity is a given with Mr. Mellonhead-Scaife.

6. Scaife?????
He's a complete lunatic. Stories of naked cocaine parties abound.
He backrolled all the shit against Clinton in the '90s.
And his newspapers and radio stations are a joke.
