1. I think that might just be subtly sarcastic.
Edited on Sat Feb-03-07 10:38 AM by LoZoccolo
I think they know the sappy animals with tears of joy in their eyes sucks.

And that this is funnier:

Contextual note: this was run after the White House told them to stop using the presidential seal to label certain articles.

4. Well, I hope you're right.
I'm totally exhausted right now and hours past my bedtime. Maybe I'd see the humor in the cartoon after a few hours of good rest.

2. I'd give this one a "10" on the Sphincter Scale...
...but like in Spinal Tap, "this one goes to eleven!"

What fucktard made this piece of trash? Can we stick him on a 5-foot square ice floe with a family of starving polar bears and then watch the ensuing fun from a safe distance?

5. It's totally sarcastic. After knowing this, if you can't "get it", perhaps reading the Onion is not
Edited on Sat Feb-03-07 10:44 AM by Mayberry Machiavelli
for you, it might raise your blood pressure too much.

Note that the woodland bunnies are thanking Bush for his PLEDGES to the environment.

Get it? Get it?

3. I'm reading other ones they posted and they're hilarious!
They're obviously making fun of the tone of right-wing humor. Check this one out about James Brown.

6. press after ipcc report
On CSPAN they had a press conference following the IPCC Report. I couldn't beleive my ears. Almost every question was diverted to the spin control person (Johnson?). This guy took every ligitimate question and turned it into a misleading statement about how Bush has been addressing the problem all along.

It was amazing, I just kept thinking:
"Oceania has always been at War with Eurasia"

12. I love it!! You see, the righties are trying to say Al Gore never did anything
Edited on Sat Feb-03-07 11:56 AM by file83
to deserve his Nobel Peace Prize nomination - that all he did was make a movie "big deal".

Except that they overlook that the movie is about years and years (and years) of giving presentations all over the world about Global Warming and what a danger we are in.

The joke of this cartoon is that Bush gave ONE speech making "pledges" to the environment - the same environment he has been shitting on during his entire time in office, and it would be typical of righties to boast what a great man this makes Bush.

So, while it may seem that the "DIFFERENCE" is being pushed in Bush's favor on the surface (the claims that the righties have been making), the real "DIFFERENCE" is that Gore has done SO MUCH MORE for the environment than Bush, and we all know it.
