Damn, I was really hoping to be able to vote for a Dem in 2008.
But it looks like everyone is a warmonger, uses the wrong light bulbs or is unelectable if I'm to believe the most passionate posters here.

Shucks, golly! What a conundrum! I guess I'll just stay home.

1. Clark.
A man who among the horde truly understands the consequences of war and was against the war in Iraq from the start.

He should not be lumped with the others.

8. I'd have no problem supporting Clark, Gore or Kucinich if one of them
won the primary. I wouldn't even have to baulk that much if it was Hillary.

They all have strengths and all have a few things I don't agree with. So does Edwards. But I'm not going to go out of my way to try and convince others that my guy is right by trying to swiftboat any of the Dem runners.

9. Clark Rules. Hilary, Biden and Obama drool.
Edited on Sat Feb-03-07 03:21 AM by kysrsoze
I like Barack, but he's a junior Senator and does not have the experience and connections to effectively pull off the job - at least not right now. He needs to hold off until 2012 (God help us if that's an option) or 2016. Hilary's a DLC suck-up who kowtows to big business and the opinions of crackers. Joe Biden just wants a microphone in front of his face.

Right now, Clark is my absolute first-choice - as he was in the '04 election. I'd also take Bill Richardson hands down over those other two clowns and Obama.

5. Not even... I'm a supporter of a person who ues the wrong bulbs.
:)

But the way he and others are being slammed bothers me. I'm all for supporting your candidate, but I hate to see the swiftboating of our own.

21. We might support that same wrong person ...
I'm kinda disappointed that he only wants to fight poverty and the great economic divide in this country ... I kinda hoped he would decide to become one of the poor:sarcasm:

22. You would at least expect him to take a public vow of poverty
and donate all his family's wealth to... Al Gore, Wes Clark or Dennis Kucinich?

3. Let me be the first to say "Al Gore in 2008" in this thread
...before about 25 other people beat me to it.

7. I agree with the Clark suggestions..
Besides is Al running?

What's his stance on the "surge" in Iraq?

I haven't heard much out of him on issues we've been debating since the campaign season began - with the exception (of course) of Global Warning.

I like Gore -- but yeah, along with all of those Democrats that threw their hats in the ring, I hope the General throws his 4 starts into the ring and SOON~~~

6. I can go for that
but my list is small. I insist on a qualified candidate. No pretty faces, or corporate controlled front men!!!!!

There are very few who fit that bill, Clark and Gore among them.

10. I for one
am sick of the left's phobia of money. Like it or not money is in politics, and we can't change that in the short term.

Is it sickening that Hillary's top bracket is $1 million? Yes, of course. Should we crucify her for it? No. Because people on the other side are going to be doing the same thing. Taking money does not a corporate whore make. It get's close, but if you want people who don't take money, you're left with pretty much Dennis Kucinich, who is a great guy but won't win because he doesn't have money, hence no one knows who he is.

But don't be so sickened by money. There are many more things to be sickened about. Taking money doesn't make "front men". Acting on those donations makes you a front man, like Shrub (tear for Molly Ivins). Give a pol the benefit of the doubt sometime.

And please, Gore never took money? Career politician to the extreme. Not that that's bad, but still.
