Woohoo! The energy crisis may soon be over
Let's burn salt water. This will tower over Edison's invention of the lightbulb.

4. If that is an efficient way of generating energy
then it looks like something that could be easily created on a larger scale. I'd love to hear that this is being used to replace fossil fuels.

Any engineers here want to comment on this?

8. It requires more energy to convert the water than you get back.
In that sense, its not an answer to our energy needs.

Then buy him out and sit on the product.

6. How much energy is used for the radio wave generator?
I guess a fuel cell could be used to get things underway, then use energy from braking to recharge.

9. OK - never says how much energy it takes to cause the burn
Is there an energy in/ energy out table someplace.
Ethanol fails badly when you take in the amount of energy it takes to produce the output energy

10. This is a tired old something for nothing scam
It takes more electrical energy to release the hydrogen from salt water than the energy you get back from burning the hydrogen. In other words, you burn a barrel of oil to generate enough electricity to release enough hydrogen to replace a quarter of a barrel of oil. That's NOT a source of energy folks. It's a way of burning 3/4 of a barrel of oil and being left with nothing to show for it. It's a net energy looser. There is NO FREE LUNCH!

That people would fall for this for even 30 seconds is a comment on the sad state of science education in this country.

12. But..I don't think you understand Physics. I've got this great idea.
Take an electric Motor, hook it up to a Generator, run part of the
generator output back to the motor to power the Generator...Etc....

Any left over power is Free!!!

These energy-from-water "discoveries" are just a rehash of something that's been known for nearly two centuries: namely, that if you consume enough electrical energy, you can make H2 from H2O -- and if you burn the H2, re-forming H2O, you recover less energy than was consumed by passage of the electric current:

Hydrogen from water: it's the new Snake Oil. And it shows up too much on DU.
