Do you want your children to learn about chemistry? Be careful, you could be breaking the law
From Dvorak Uncensored:

When chemistry is outlawed, only outlaws will do chemistry:

In an attempt to curb the production of crystal meth, more than 30 states have now outlawed or require registration for common lab equipment. In Texas, you need to register the purchase of Erlenmeyer flasks or three-necked beakers. The same state where I do not have to register a handgun, forces me to register a glass beaker. When a current company tried re releasing a kit based on the one marketed by Mr. Wizard himself back in the 1950s, they found that they could only include five of the original chemicals in the set. The rest of the items were replaced with inane things like super balls and balloons. Even a non neutered modern chemistry set like the C3000 from Thames and Kosmos is forced to ship without many key chemicals, suggesting to their customers that they acquire the missing ingredients elsewhere.

1. Maybe we should take away Math, too.
If they can't add up their drug profits, perhaps it will curb the sale of illegal narcotics.

5. I guess there's no NCA..
.. (Natl Chemistry Assc.) to make sure
that kids have access to lethal chemicals
in order to make dangerous drugs..
.. though the NRA makes sure they have
access to guns.

What a joke this country is.. a sad, pathetic one.

6. I used to hate these kinds of over-restrictive laws that were created out of panic.
Now I actually encourage them! Maybe if we keep on overreacting and ban a ton of innocuous things, people will face crises big enough to start rethinking the relationship between hysteria and law.

7. It really seems as if we chase crime in this country-
meaning, we're always one step behind. We never seem to be proactive about anything.

I'm not even really sure if its a good thing or a bad thing - it just seems lame: Example:

Planes are hijacked with a box knive ======> We ban box knives
Dude puts bomb in shoe ======> We remove shoes at airport security
Rumors surface about a liquid based bomb =====> We come up with asinine 3-1-1 rule for liquids

NOTICE: this is not even a complete thought - just a random musing.

9. I'm waiting for the next logical step: the outlawing of the study of
chemistry at the university level. It will be deemed a "state secret", only to be studied and mastered by a select group of CIA and NSA and DIA people.
