So…have the right-wingers admitted that Valerie Plame was covert?

They've been awfully quiet about it since it was confirmed in Fitzgerald's papers and Tenet's book.

So far…no apology or article on the subject from Bob Novak. Just crickets.

Joe DiGenova was on Tweety tonight and did not refute the fact as stated by ben-veniste. All he said was that the CIA did a lousy job in protecting their employees.

Anyone hear of any apologies or recognition of the fact that Plame was covert?

1. None.

They hold to the position that she was not covert for the purposes of the law against revealing the identities of covert agents. As far as they're concerned, you must be some kind of permanent plant or double agent living under constant danger in a foreign territory to be covered; short trips to do critical covert work for the agency should not be protected and in their judgment, is not protected.

I post regularly on a small forum with a healthy(?) RWW contingent, and they are NOT admitting it even now. Even the resident self-described libertarian "questions" whether Plame had covert status at the time Novak outed her. This guy thinks he can make up for it in snark when he's short on facts, but he's beating the same dead horse as the rest of the kool-aid drinkers.

I just posted the letter at the AfterDowningStreet site, the one signed by Larry Johnson and the other CIA veterans, but I doubt that it will do any good. They just refuse to believe what they don't want to believe.

They're saying very little all of a sudden. I had expected diGenova to begin screaming about how she was never cover, blah, blah. But he didn't. I think I even saw his wife a few days ago, and she did the same. They just don't want to talk about it.

The ones on the forums, though, will never give it up.
