Senate Republicans Block Vote on Alberto Gonzales

I know, I know. What a bunch of bastards. But here is the thing. They have been doing this for virtually every legislation that has passed through the senate. So why in the hell did the democrats not do this over the past 6 years when they didn't have majority. There were so many important issues that they could have filibustered, why did they not do this?

Is it because they are cowards? Oh yeah, it is.

5. Apparently, they were "keeping their powder dry."
I agree with your sentiment, but I tend to think it's more because they're too "nice" to their "friends across the aisle" -- as we know the larger part of Republicans in Congress have no sense of shame or embarrassment, possess no conscience. That comes in handy when they have to trumpet either their mass-murderer Dear Leader or one of his psychopath minions.

6. If you have nothing to fight for, you tend not to fight. The Democrats
Edited on Mon Jun-11-07 08:06 PM by Dhalgren
have shown that they have yet to discover anything worth fighting for. Every excuse, every equivocation, every switch and bait shows yet again that the congressional Democrats don't see anything to fight against vis a vis the Republicans and Dear Leader. They say what you want to hear, then only fight for what they really believe. So what do they really believe - I think they are telling us every day...
