Army Pfc. Jon B. St. John II

25, of Neenah, Wis.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; died Jan 27 of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during convoy operations in Taji, Iraq. Also killed were Army Cpl. Timothy A. Swanson and Army Pfc. David T. Toomalatai.

But now that we're 3,000 deaths into this misadventure (and counting), it's about time folks realized that these casualties aren't all in the "it's happening to someone else, far away from me" category.

I just heard on the news this morning about a 19-year-old Marine from Vancouver WA getting killed. He assured his family that they had nothing to worry about. We need to quit listening to 19-year-olds or at least people with 19-year-old mentalities (or younger). They don't know very much.

young men and women are losing their lives daily to flatter a frat-boy's vanity.

All this while blood is shed, lives are lost and families grieve.

Congress should pull it's collective head out of its butt and get the troops home ASAP.
