Let us not forget John "Torture" Yoo's response to a question about GITMO/other detainee's children.
Cassel: If the President deems that he’s got to torture somebody, including by crushing the testicles of the person’s child, there is no law that can stop him?
Yoo: No treaty.
Cassel: Also no law by Congress. That is what you wrote in the August 2002 memo.
Yoo: I think it depends on why the President thinks he needs to do that.

Here is the audio:
http://rwor.org/downloads/file_info/download1.php?file=yoo_on_torture.mp3

This has been posted about before, but in light of the new revelations about children being "disappeared" I thought we needed to be reminded that a man who wrote the policy, or at least participated with other in writing the policy on detainees, said that.

When I posted it last year, I checked up on the story and the audio. In the interests of full disclosure this came from a publication of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA:
http://rwor.org/quick/028en.htm#a1

While the source is not highly credible, there was indeed a debate between Doug Cassel and John Yoo on December 1st, 2005, as claimed in the article where that recording came from. I checked with the venue that was named in the story, and their own system confirmed that this debate was had.

1. Why he needs to do that? Crush a child's testicles?
Would the father beg after that? Breakdown and plead? How about cutting off an arm in front of grandma and the family dog? What will they say?

America is a shell of the country it was just 10 years ago.

4. But what is next? How far do they have to go?
I really wonder what it will take.

6. What's worse than torturing little kids?
Genocide? Nuclear war?

These folks are running out of new lows to stoop to.

5. And you have to wonder, what is America for letting these people into power?
One way or another, we let them in. Either they stole all the elections and we let them do it, or they won them and the majority of people are fucked in the head enough to elect them.

Democracy is a reality, no matter how much we may try to run from it. We are always responsible for what's happening.

7. Wasn't bush senior involved somehow in a then coverup of missing young boys in Texas
and Oklahoma some years ago? I just think it's obvious they care little about life no matter the age when it comes to getting what they want, it honestly does not suprise me though it sickens me the hypocrisy they exhibit so blantanly and yet far too many in my opinion still believe them all to be the real victims in all these lightly publized crimes.

he made an appearance on Hardball a while back to discuss the "Unitary Executive Theory".

If Tweety was a real reporter he would have asked him about this.
