President Bush plans to visit Wichita next week to help Russ Meyer and hundreds of Wichita children celebrate the opening of the new 21st Street Boys and Girls Club complex in north Wichita.

Bush will arrive on the morning of June 15 to tour the new club Meyer helped build. Some programs have already started there even as construction workers finish the outside. The new club will be fully operational July 9, said Jan Davis, the club director.

Bush will also see The Opportunity Project preschool, built alongside the school by entrepreneur Barry Downing.

but I have given up protesting Bush. Because of your signature icon. He's a lame duck. He's a moot point. He's not running for anything. Spending $100 to drive to Wichita would be a waste of time and money. It would be better to send 10 impeachMints to members of Congress. Now if he came to where I was living and I could bicycle there, then I probably would. Although it was also depressing to me how small the other protest groups were. At least I did my part.
