Thom Hartmann Wins Silver for "Screwed"
The 2007 Independent Publisher Book Awards have been handed out, and Thom Hartmann walked away with a respectable Silver "IPPY" for his book, "Screwed: The Undeclared War Against the Middle Class".

Hartmann's radio show airs 12-3pm Eastern on AirAmerica Radio;

The Gold for the Current Events category went to Canadian author and longtime media critic, Barrie Zwicker for his examination of the media's coverage of 9/11, "Towers of Deception".

Barrie Zwicker had some media exposure last week on cable television in Winnipeg, Manitoba;

Now they're planning the crime of the century
Well what will it be?
Read all about their schemes and adventuring
It's well worth a fee
So roll up and see
And they rape the universe
How they've gone from bad to worse
Who are these men of lust, greed, and glory?
Rip off the masks and let see.
But that's no right - oh no, whats the story?
There's you and there's me
That can't be right

7. Thanks for the post!
My right wing mother actually listens to Hartmann on occasion. She says he is reasonable.

Would you consider reposting this at the non-fiction books forum?

10. Sure.
I'll wait until this post drops off the radar, though.

Unless you want to post the Hartmann stuff separately, then go for it!

8. The first time I saw Thom Hartmann's name
I knew it sounded familiar. When I looked up this book, I noticed that he had previously written two books that I read prior to becoming politically aware. They are books on ADD and as an adult with ADD, I've read damn near every book on the subject. Small world, eh?
