1. Interesting.
Most everyone here loves The Kooch but who would have suspected that Gravel would be the number two guy on DU?

2. I don't think Gravel actually is the number two guy.
My guess is that people who support any of the "top three" candidates are getting their donations vacuumed up by aggressive fundraising efforts directly from the campaigns. They get an appeal for money from a campaign, and they donate directly to that campaign without thinking about DU.

If the donations were a reliable indicator of support, I think Obama would have a lot more donations than zero.

3. Sadly the only reason Clinton & Obama are the so called
"Top 2" is because the MSM are telling you they are and is making sure that one of them is the democratic nominee because they know they have no chance to win. The MSM is playing this country like an old fiddle.

4. That's not the only reason.
The other reasons are 1) they are both polling at the top of the field, and 2) they both raise a lot more money than the other candidates.

I would disagree that they both have no chance to win. I think they could both win. Obama in particular.

6. and whom is doing those polls?
and who is it that broadcast those 2 names ad nauseam over & over & over 24/7 while rarely mentioning anyone else?
They flatly refuse to mention Kucinich other than him singing 16 tons or some other derogatory sound byte.

The MSM is picking who the candidate is going to be not the alleged voters and the reason they are getting the money is because of Corporations that also want them to be the candidate.
The top 2% control this process completely.

I guarantee the majority of people in the USA will not vote for a black man named Barrack Hussein Obama, Clinton has a snow balls chance in Texas mainly because of the Billiary factor and she is Republican Lite anyway. Then of course who ever the Democratic candidate is is virtually moot since again the MSM refuse to acknowledge that the 2000 & 04' elections were fraudulent because they were complicit in the cover up.
2008 is already lost because 10s of millions in the country just don't give a shit and the Democrats are pissing in the face of their base.

8. I remember hearing from DUers that 2006 was "already lost" right up to the election
The results must have really bummed out the defeatist Dems around here. At least you guys can start working on 2008 now.

9. Yeah and about 10-15 were stolen
Rove miscalculated and didn't steal enough to keep a majority.

So were the 2000 & 04' elections stolen? If you cant admit that then you are delusional. I'm not "defeatist" I'm a realist

17. Good idea! Skinner, could you add the DNC to the list?
The DNC donations would show overall support for lower-level races.

18. Skinner, just sent $20 bucks to Draft Gore
Just read Assault on Reason, question if you donate using front page photo instead of the above link, does DU get credit, I used
the DU link for the DNC in the past.

20. It's heartening to see DUers support the VOICES speaking to our values.
Completely independent of whether the candidate is nominated or is seen as 'electable,' it seems more important to me that, in a long campaign 'season,' there's support for those whose voices are speaking truth to power.

21. I was just thinking that-ok there have only been 21 donations
but still it is nice to see Kucinich getting near the 50% mark :toast:. And I haven't even donated myself. I am not donating to the primaries this year.
