I don't get it. We hated it when Bush did this kind of thing,
but now Obama is getting his butt kicked because he won't? DU was up in arms over Bush's executive orders and signing statements, but I guess the so-called "unitary executive" theory so adored by Dick Cheney is bad only when used to further Republican policies. But in order to get health care reform done the way *we* want it, I guess it's just fine to crap on the Constitution.

1. They wanted to elect a Progressive George Bush.....

because if nothing else, these folks respect force and power more than process and democracy.

I understand the mentality....as it is what happens when folks are abused long enough....
at some point they turn around and do it too.

I just hope the leading thinkers of this country can appeal to enough open minds that are still out there. I've said it already, but I'll say it again; You can't beat the Republicans by being like them....and that means we have to reject their tactics too, not just their politics; and there I see Pres. Obama is mindful of that....which is why he will win at the end. Everyone is being uncovered for what they truly are, which is an uncanny skill in strategy that Obama seems to have. In more than enough time, folks who can't recognize themselves will take a second look--hopefully, in the mirror.

7. My opinion of some of these people that claim they want Obama
to do this type of thing is that they are just using this to find fault with Obama and to try to get rid of him. They are pushing their own candidate that never made it to the finals in any campaign. They think they can pull a Arnold California take over with the federal government. ;)

This is just my opinion because I don't understand half of what they are saying. Just coming off of eight days of side effects. Mind is foggy...or just naturally dim.

8. I've said it a dozen times ...

What we've got out there in the larger DU-land is a bunch of Robespierre wanna-bes. I only *thought* I was exaggerating for effect, even though the people to whom the comment was directed never did get it. Then I started seeing threads investigating this person and investigating that person and teaming up with the "other side" to investigate that other person for the "greater good." And then I saw, supposedly exaggerated for effect, comments about putting all these people in prison, and then I saw a supposedly exaggerated sig-line invoking the guillotine ...

And they were *all* talking about Democrats or DLC-ers or anyone in the party whom they deem not worthy of their own personal definition of what it means to be liberal, progressive, or whatever word they want to use that day.

They're not rational. They're not even criticizing policy initiatives or the lack of them. They're not actually criticizing. They're raging against whoever happens to be in power, regardless of whom that person or party is. They're nihilists. They're the reason anarchists of the early 20th century were considered such bad news and why lumping them with the actual progressives proved to be such a good tactic by conservatives for nullifying the latter's influence. Our own anarchists today are *demanding* they be called progressives.

Lordy shut me up before I really go off on a rant. Many people have no idea how correct they are in comparing the current era to the Gilded Age.

10. Yep....everyone strutting around like they are health care economists
who have read the thousand page bills.....and understand it better than say, Sen. Sanders....
when that ain't the case, and everybody knows it.

I know I have not read but a fraction of those bills, and what I read, I didn't understand it all....
so I'm waiting for conference to get a better view.

But you know they know. sure. :eyes:
