Bill Clinton in Texas...
OK, so y'all probably know that Obama has been having a huge number of folks for Precinct Captain Trainings in Texas(including the one I posted about in Galveston), and you may have heard that Obama will be in Houston at a 20,000 seat arena (plus overflow seating) Tuesday evening... *evening*... when most peope can attend....

Well, I received a notice this afternoon that Bill Clinton will be in Galveston Tuesday... at 9am... at a relatively small location (unless it will be outside, which I do not know).

OK, I could be projecting... I could be making assumptions, but...

When one expects huge, enthusiastic crowds, one books one of the largest venues in the region during the time in which the most people can attend.

When one is not so optimistic, one chooses a smaller locale, and a time at which most people (other than truly hardcore supporters who would take vacation or miss a day's pay) could not attend. In that way, one would have an automatic excuse for a less than overwhelming response.

I could be wrong, but I wouldn't bet on it.

1. this happened in Wisconsin, too
Obama spoke at large and smaller venues. The Clintons all had small ones. Within two days they played at the same smaller venue about 10 miles from here, and I attended the Obama one. It was packed, with standing room only. Bill Clinton's event filled it maybe a third full (400 people). One example which I think illustrates the whole pretty well!

I suspect that the media are not telling us the whole story, not telling us how lopsided this campaign really is. They want an exciting horse race, after all. They don't want to tell us that one horse is out front by about ten lengths!

2. In Cincinnati, OH also.
Hillary was at a Skyline restaurant last week around 9 o'clock in the morning. That particular Skyline is small and most of the people in there were local and state politicians. And it was invitation only. For some reason the Hillary campaign called me to go, but I said I didn't want to go because I didn't support her.

There were about 150 people there. Michelle Obama was at Music Hall the next evening at 6pm and there were 2,000 people there.

Go figure.
