Putting an end to the disinformation campaign
It seems like every time there is some red-tape procedure in the government related to drilling, people go apeshit over it and use it as an excuse to say, "SEE?!?! Obama's not in control of the situation." or worse, "SEE?!?! Obama's LYING!!11!" I've updated my journal with a fact list on the moratorium and what exactly it means. It seems like people only want to be fed outrageous bullshit that allows them to be angry. It's really quite sad. Watching the spin from some on the $20 billion escrow account as a bad thing was one of the most incredible things I've seen on this site. Ever. It's just something people are going to get upset about. The vast majority of voters are going to look at that and say "Wow, that's great." Democrats are going to trumpet that as a major victory this election cycle. Only teabaggers pretending to be progressives are going to make an issue out of it. They'll soon be apologizing to BP like Barton did.

3. Some seem to be making
a career (or at least an avocation) of that "identity".

Berni is right about the outright bashing of any and all things Obama. The numbers of them actually being "teabaggers" may never be known but the dearth of constructive analysis, criticism and critical thinking is a "known known"!

4. I'm in a bad mood...and I'm so sick of this shit!
Edited on Fri Jun-18-10 12:36 PM by Blue_Roses
I open my email to a STUPID chain email from my rwing brother-in-law (who I thought I had on block!) on how he's "proud" to be a "bad" American. I think I physically want to puke. I have since deleted this, but wanted to share how our country's ability--for some--to stay "STUCK ON STUPID" propagates itself. I started to respond, but like so many times that I've responded to these stupid emails, I find that not only do I waste tons of time that will not make a dent in their ignorant minds, but also leads to more of a bad mood for me. So, this time, I thought I would endulge you because, laughter is the best medicine for a bad mood--I can already hear laughter from many of you at the stupiditiy of this shit!

This, my friends, is a sad, on-going, epidemic of stupidity in our nation:

"YES, I'M A BAD AMERICAN
I Am the Liberal-Progressives Worst Nightmare.
I am an American.
I am a Master Mason and believe in God.
I ride Harley Davidson Motorcycles and believe in American products.
I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some Liberal governmental functionary be it Democratic or Republican!
I'm in touch with my feelings and I like it that way!
I think owning a gun doesn't make you a killer, it makes you a smart American.
I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized, and does not entitle you to anything. Get over it!
I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac, do it in English.
I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when and where they want to.
My heroes are John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Roy Rogers, and Willie G. Davidson that makes the awesome Harley Davidson Motorcycles

I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor.
I know wrestling is fake and I don't waste my time watching or arguing about it.
I've never owned a slave, or was a slave, I haven't burned any witches or been persecuted by the Turks and neither have you!
So, shut up already.
I believe if you don't like the way things are here, go back to where you came from and change your own country!
This is AMERICA .We like it the way it is!
If you were born here and don't like it you are free to move to any Socialist country that will have you.
I want to know which church is it exactly where the Reverend Jesse Jackson preaches, where he gets his money, and why he is always part of the problem and not the solution.
Can I get an AMEN on that one?
I also think the cops have the right to pull you over if you're breaking the law, regardless of what color you are.
And, no, I don't mind having my face shown on my drivers license.
I think it's good.... And I'm proud that 'God' is written on my money.
I think if you are too stupid to know how a ballot works, I don't want you deciding who should be running the most powerful nation in the world for the next four years.
I dislike those people standing in the intersections trying to sell me stuff or trying to guilt me into making 'donations' to their cause.
Get a Job and do your part!
believe that it doesn't take a village to raise a child, it takes two parents.
I believe 'illegal' is illegal no matter what the lawyers think.
I believe the American flag should be the only one allowed in AMERICA
If this makes me a BAD American, then yes, I'm a BAD American.
If you are a BAD American too, please forward this to everyone you know.
We want our country back!

5. Idiocracy.
Really.

They don't want to think any more. They don;t even know what the hell they believe in, but as long as they say AMEN it's all good.

This is so wrong.

Marxism.

Seriously, there are real actual Marxists on DU jumping on everything Obama says and does to slam him.

I've known Marxists and to a man, they all gave it up when the philosophy was a proven failure back in the very early nineties. I did not realize anybody took that bullshit seriously these days.
